RE: Pokemon Did You Knows?
Did you know that Bouffalant's signature move, Head Charge, in Japan was originally named "Afro Break"?

Afro break! XD
I have one

In Pokemon Black and White (2) there are 7 wings that boost the EVs of Pokemon(The one without the gem doesn't boost EVs).

They also share the same colours as the Chaos Emeralds from Sonic the Hedgehog

I think that's simply because they're all parts of the colour wheel, just 60 degrees away from each other. It's to give solid variety and distinction in colors.

You know, even though this isn't even a big thing, my mind is blown about that.

I think it should be a DYK.

Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia is one of the only Pokemon games where it is possible to die. It's on the ship part.
I can't find a video of it, unfortunately.

Yeah, I remembered this part. I think you had to escape or find the control room in a certain time on the Cargo Ship, but I never knew you actually DIED. Nice find, if only there was a video...

Did you know that...

In Pokemon Black & White, Champion Alder's Italian name (Nardo) is the same name of a member of the EU localization team's (Elena Nardo)

[Image: original.jpg][Image: original.jpg]

ALSO IN THE FRENCH VERSION THEY CHANGED ALL THE POKEMON NAMES BLARGH

I got nothing on French people, but when I try to talk about Pokemon with my Italian friends, I wish you could be a bit more lazy. It's really confusing sometimes.

Also, France deserves a medal for being the only country ever to call a computer in a different way (at least I think so)

RE: Pokemon Did You Knows?
There were a few trainer sprites that had to be changed internationally for censorship purposes, because they appeared to be too revealing or encouraged behavior such as seductiveness or smoking. A few included the GSC Beauties, GSC Fishers, and Gen IV Swimmers. Here are a few:
Japanese sprites: [Image: Spr_GS_Beauty_JP.png][Image: Spr_DP_Swimmer_M_JP.png][Image: Spr_HGSS_Swimmer_M_JP.png][Image: Spr_GS_Fisher_JP.png]
International sprites:[Image: Spr_GS_Beauty.png][Image: Spr_DP_Swimmer_M.png][Image: Spr_HGSS_Swimmer_M.png][Image: Spr_GS_Fisher.png]

I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned before, but the picture hasn't been seen. In a 1997 edition of "MicroGroup Game Review" had a cover that featured a few protoype designs of Pokemon along with two trainers.
[Image: 175px-MicroGroup_Game_Review_Volume_14.jpg]
One of the Pokemon seems to be a recolored Tyranitar, probably in its shiny form. Another seems to be a Clefairy-like Pokemon that had multiple legs and seemed to balance like a top. This may be the inspiration to Hitmontop. The most interesting art has to be the unnamed turtle with a green shell. The face of the turtle bears a striking resemblance to Tirtouga, a 5th Gen Pokemon.
This unreleased prototype Pokemon may be the basis of the design of Tirtouga.

In an interview with Nintendo Power, Shellos and Gastrodon were planned to appear in Gen III as opposed to being left until Gen IV. They have back sprites that were left until Gen IV.
[Image: Spr_b_4d_422b.png][Image: Spr_b_4d_423b.png]
They seemed to be Western variants, Shellos having eastern variant fins and Gastrodon having plumes. What's interesting is that there are two cries in Ruby in Sapphire's data that weren't used (266 and 269)

Seeing as how its two similar, slug-like cries not in the game, and how Shellos and Gastrodon were planned for Gen III, this may be the leftover cries for them.

Credit to the people that posted some of these facts, first, I just felt I had to elaborate on them more

A line that became an internet meme ("I like shorts, they're comfy and easy to wear"), said by a youngster in GEN I, is referenced in the English version of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2.

Oh... I've always thought the Italians had their own Pokémon names.
You (assuming you're Italian) could also have awesome names like 'Psykokwak' Big Grin

You (assuming you're Italian) could also have awesome names like 'Psykokwak' Big Grin

I actually never knew that some counties had other names until I moved to Belgium, as Italians use the English names. When I bought Pokemon Black in French, I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry. You know you have a creative country when you translate Audino into Nanméouïe. I still don't know how to pronounce it.

Also, I once invited a friend home, and he had a French copy of Diamond. He traded me a Golduck, and the French name is Akwakwak. I was very tired, and it made me laugh. Didn't stop laughing until dinner. The combinations of puns is just that awesome

RE: Pokemon Did You Knows?
Lapras' original US name was Ness, most likely in reference to the Scottish Loch Ness Monster Myth, which shares a similar appearance with Lapras, which in turn is said to be a Plesiosaur.
