Pokemon Did You Knows? - DarkNerd - 06-26-2012 09:31 AM

I know a ton about Pokemon, so I figured I'd compile it all into one thread.

The legendary Charizard card has a rival in terms of rarity and value; a misprinted Raichu.

The legendary dog trio of Entie, Raikou, and Suicune are more cat-like.

Many Generation 3 backsprites are actually revamps of Gold, Silver and Crystal ones.

Clefairy was supposed to be Pokemon's mascot, but due to it's deviant nature in Japan, it was changed to Pikachu overseas.

Red from the games and manga had a cameo in the anime as a tv cartoon character, with none other than a Clefairy.

Trust me, I have hundreds more.

I just love Pokemon and are the topic I like the most in Did You Know Gaming.
"Clefairy was supposed to be Pokemon's mascot, but due to it's deviant nature in Japan, it was changed to Pikachu overseas." Not sure if there are a post about that, but it was talked in the video.

Good luck with these Wink

In the US dubs, Dan Green voiced two legendaries: Mewtwo and Entei. Both were made by humans. Dan Green is how humans think legendary Pokemon should sound like.

Arcanine is the only Pokemon classified as a legendary Pokemon, despite not being even close to being one.

Dodou and Dodrio can fly, despite not having visible wings.

The only bug types that can learn fly aren't even flying types.

"The legendary dog trio of Entie, Raikou, and Suicune are more cat-like."

i've only seen fans call them "dogs" in the first place. it's always been beasts iirc

Most fans call them the legendary dogs or beasts.

TBH suicune is the only 1 that looks kinda doggish Tongue Raikou and Entei look rly rly catlike

According to Bulbapedia, Entei, Suicune and Raikou are just Legendary Beasts. Entei is a lion-like (based on Chinese guardian lions), Raikou is a tiger-like (based on Raijü) and Suicune is a chettah/leopard-like (based on Qilin)

It is rumoured that butterfree was originally intended to be venonat's evolution, and that venomoth was planned to be caterpie's second evolution.

Generation 2 supported same-sex love, because love balls would only work if the wild pokemon was the same gender as the one you sent out.

1. Cubone is supposedly a baby Kanghaskan, who lost its mother, and wears her skull. :O Creeeeeepy stuff here people!
2. Gengar is rumored to be the ghost of a Clefairy...

Yay pokemon!!!
Well, there's the truck that is near the S.S Anne if you surf/walk on the water (it's not possible without a cheat because you don't get the HM until later on in the game). It's the only vehicle in the series besides the moving truck from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.
Rhydon was the first pokemon programmed into the game.
The high pitched screech in the original Green recording of the Lavender Town song.

Those are some Smile

1. Didyouknowgaming is a website that posts facts and truths about games. That one is more like a rumour.
2. Already posted in the site
