Well.. you cant say, the new games actually comes with a cardridge.. Just cards.
But yea they could have colored them, but im pretty sure they will do that in the future.

Did you know, that there is a "Missingno" for items too?
Its called "Teru sama" and can be sold at every marked for 17.400$.

Did you know, that there is a virus for Pokemon, called Pokerus?
This is an extremly (EXTREMLY) rare type of status, that a pokemon could get.
The chance to encounter a wild pokemon with Pokerus is 1:21845 (1/3 the chance for a shiny)
When a pokemon has Pokerus in your team, it can infect other pokemons in your team for a period of time (Max 15 days i think). In this status it gains more EV points after a levelup, it doesnt harm your Pokemon at all.
The Pokerus exist in gen 2 and above.

Easiest way to keep Pokerus is to have a Pokemon infected and then move one of them into the Pokemon Storage. Keep at least one infected Pokemon in there means you always have access to it. It can go if it's in there.

Also the chance to capture Pokerus is 3 in 65,536
Shiney is 1/8192

Once I got my hands on a Pokemon with Pokerus. I never understood why my friend got to so happy when I just gave it to him.

I guess I should've asked for more than a low level pokemon.

I played Pokemon gold myself for a long, long time, completed the pokedex (even with celebi, yes with a cheat, but still xD) but never got a pokemon with pokerus.
So i never knew that until a friend told me..

But with a chance of 3 to 65.535 its not a big deal

Technically, Pokemon Black was the last game colored to it's title.

Seriously though, WOOPER AND ICE PUNCH!
Should I start mentioning beta 'mon?

Dont start that convo again

And Black? well yea black is technically no color, but black edition in black, well... they got that one right

Alright I found this when I was looking back on music from Pokemon Pinball and I never realized when I was young and played it. Did you know that in Pokemon pinball (Which came out about seven months before the first gen 2 games in Japan) they "beta tested" the music to both Ecruteak/Cianwood cities in the form of a remix on the "Blue field" stage?

Jynx's skin colour was changed due to it being...."offensive".

Yeah, originally it was because of a christmas episode in the anime where they were Santas "helpers" and people thought it was slavery-related. Also it sort of looked like Black face.

I have a few.

1.
In Pokémon Stadium, when the player uploads a Pikachu from Yellow, it will be voiced by Ikue Ohtani and have unique sound effects.

Don't really know about that one.... can't find anything online.
2.
If a Pikachu uses Surf in Pokémon Stadium (Japanese), Pokémon Stadium (English), Pokémon Stadium 2, Pokémon Colosseum, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, and Pokémon Battle Revolution it will have a unique attack animation wielding a pink surfboard. All of these games have certain requirements to get Surfing Pikachu or at least get a player's Pikachu to learn Surf (with the exception of Colosseum and XD)

Pickachu using surf in Stadium (near the end)

and in Battle Revolution

Pokemon Colosseum

Surfing Pikachu is also found in many other games.
Diamond Dust

This one's pretty cool. Diamond dust is a special variation of snow that appears in Snowpoint City, at Mt. Silver's summit, and in Icirrus City on certain days. It has no effect in battle.

Director Junichi Masuda announced January 10, 2008 on his blog that fans should play Pokémon Diamond and Pearl on January 12, his birthday, for a surprise. The surprise was revealed that Snowpoint City has sparkling diamond dust instead of the normal snow that floats down. It is purely aesthetic, since it only occurs within the city where no battles are possible.

Did you know...

That there was no way the S.S. Anne could possible go anywhere after it takes off?

http://kthnxbai.info/Inf/Infographics/En...0Kanto.png

Look at this map, it just impossible, that the S.S. Anne could go somewhere but drive in circles.
Route 17 is land and no bike bridge for only bikers and that means, that ship is stuck, forever.

Speaking of the map,

Did you know...

that route 11 has a secret in it?
It "tells" you, in wich year pokemon was released. When you look closely, the parts without grass shows a "96", so 1996.
The first generation games of pokemon were released in 1996 in japan.
You can also see "95" there, but the "96" is better to identify, because of some troubles pokemon caused. It was planned to be released in 1995 but came out in 1996 instead. So they changed it.

Did you know...

That in blackthorn city, a women is willing to trade her rhydon or dodrio for a female dragonair?
This makes Dragonair the only pokemon able to be male or female that must be a specific gender for an in-game trade.

Last one today:

Did you know, that the second generation (Gold, Silver, not Crystall) was original intended to be Black and White, instead of Gold and Silver?
Thats because of the limitation the Gameboy had with the black/white or grey/green/yellowish colors.
But when the Gameboy Color came out, they threw that idea abort and called them gold and silver.

Oh and btw, thats SO humanity, to see Jynx somehow "offensive", because she is black (or he whatever).
I mean, comeon. Jynx? offensive? duh... humans

@Deadalus
I just checked route 11. That's pretty cool. A bit... deformed however

I remember one from R/S/E. I saw ti instantly and it's still not that known about (maybe because not everyone who plays Pokemon watches the shows)
There's a reference to Hal and Lois from Malcolm in the Middle.

Hmm, well I'm not really sure about this one.

If I recall correctly, in R/S/E in the Rusturf tunnel you go into you see a blackbelt named "Cosmo" trying to break some rocks that fell in a cave to be able to see his sweetheart "Wanda" who lived in Verdenturf town.

I always remember this because it was so out of place to me, so I thought it was a reference to Fairly Odd Parents.

>your face when Gen 6 has a couple called Walter and Skylar.

[Hexadecimal]

First off, I'll apologize in advance if I repeat something already stated. I did read through the whole thread, but my memory's even worse since all I work are 5:30AM shifts and I'm tired all the time.

I don't think this one was said, but I'm guessing it might be common knowledge. The music for Lavender town in the Japanese Red/Green version is different then the US one. This spiraled into a rumor online that Japanese children were committing suicide after hearing it when the truth was that in a certain section the high pitched noises just become too irritating after being heard for awhile.

If you place the male or female symbol at the end of your name and perform the Missingno trick you can encounter trainers to battle that can have ridiculously high leveled Pokemon as well as glitched out ones. For me personally I mostly encountered Channelers but Gary showed up once and wiped me out with an over level 100 Drowzee.

You know the teleport glitch in Cerulean to get Mew? Well, teleporting in other areas and initiating the exclamation point, then battling a trainer, and entering a random battle can cause weird quirks with the game. Unfortunately I don't know specifically which ones triggered it since I was screwing around, but the Snorlaxes became invisible and I could walk through those area without getting the flute. However, if you come back with the flute and play it the Snorlax battle will still occur. It can also cause the physics for Cycling Road to be disabled. You can ride on it like any other path without being pulled downwards.

Here is one not many ppl know:

Did you know, that koffing and weezing had a different name back in the programming state, then they have now?

They were intended to be named "NY" and "LA".
Everyone knows, that they mean New York and Los Angeles because of theyr heavy pollution.

[Scormac]

Lotsa pokemon had other names in the Beta of the game
