RE: New "open" console
My problem is that many consoles of this have been talked about throughout the years, all of which never came to be. Hopefully this one will come out even if it does completely flop.

RE: New "open" console
I have heard consoles like this before and they never really get far enough to be sold. Hopefully with how well it's backed up, they'll know what they're doing. But I have my doubts.

It plays Android games, right? Most Android games are simple little time wasters. So I don't see the lasting appeal of it.

Still, that may change if you get a couple of good developers. The hackable aspect is really neat, I can't wait to see what people can do with it.

That's why I'm not interested in this. These modern day mobile "games" are pretty meh. But, the picture does show Madden. Granted it's a boring game but it's a console game then that's pretty promising to have....if it's an application game then meh.

You look at it the wrong way. Here we have a console where it's free to release your games and you even get a devkit with the console. From a Game Developer's view this console is a dream. If this console starts selling (which is probably will with that amazing pricetag) it will get a lot of games. There's no question about it.

Man I realized after I started saying games are going to shit, I don't have any ideas for making games XD

Ontopic: This seems really nice, and I think I will look into it. Only $100, so it won't waste much if it flops.

My goodness, it looks great, but it'd just be one of them things Id buy and let my family play it instead. Aslong as theres some sort of Multiplayer, if not, its fine but still, nice to play with mates.

I mean like consoles that are not Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo getting into the video game business. They either seem to just fade away, die out quickly, or turn out to be a rumor. Don't get me wrong, it'd be awesome if this turns out to be good. I just don't want to get my hopes up again.

RE: New "open" console
The only way for it to not be killed by emulators is giving people a new way to play that is hard to equal on PC, like Wii has motion controllers and Xbox 360 has the Kinect. Still, there are PC versions for both, so...

But if someone isn't willing to pay for a cheap console with free games, he won't pay for new hardware just to emulate this console. It's idiot.
