Im picking it up on launch

Edit: Like if it's seriously this open there will be working emulators by day 3...
I'm a little interested how it plays out more in the future.
Interesting, very interesting.
I would like to see where this goes but it seems like one of those things that's just gonna fall through the cracks...but we will see.
If it works, it might mean a whole new direction for the games industry to follow. I guess.
To be honest I REALLY doubt it will stand a chance against any other big name console. It looks like a really cool idea though, so I would like to see how it works out in the end.

This console is also a dream for every video game developer, especially indie ones. If this console goes through we will see a lot more of those indie games.

CFMM

I read about this earlier today. I find it amusing that it's pronounced the same way as "Ouija".

I'm eager to learn more about the system, though in regards to its hackability and openendedness I don't know if it's enough to make me want one. I already have a decent computer that can stream TV/movies, play media, run emulators, and of course play PC games and do Internet stuff. As far as emulation goes I use the Wii predominately for older consoles, and my PS1/Dreamcast/Saturn are all set up to play back-up games. even at $100 I don't know if I will have a use for the Ouya. It needs to wow me before I make a purchase.
Looks really interesting. I doubt it will be much success though as people will tend to stick with the most known ones.
It sounds interesting but most people who take that stuff seriously either have a PC for doing all of that or just mod a Wii and it can run anything. GBA, PS1 etc.
Yeah good point, but for 100 bucks it feels like you can't go wrong anyway.

You have totally missed the point of this console.

...also to give the average Joe the ability to create their own applications/games/functions etc. They've given you Google/Android which is Open Source; so giving the customer a dev kit will let them create and customise their "console". It's really about the homebrew scene and what they can do with a pre-made canvas (game code). I get it, but I also see it as just ending up an emulator
Probably wont do very good but i'm curious about it
For the price I'll probably pick it up, I love obscure stuff like this.
>dem buttons.

I hope that picture isn't real, buttons should always be letters, nothing retarded like the Playstation.

Still this thread has intrigued me, I will get this obviously, it seems like the PC mastur race console, if it could be changed to suit the player.

I'm still going to get all consoles next gen, since being an Idort is true masterrace, but I hope that this doesn't fail to quickly, a new console needs to break the trend of people thinking Microsoft = Sony > Nintendo, and hopefully take the gamers, from the casuals.

It'd also be nice if controller support for Keyboard, as well as USB is integrated.
