Welcome to the former forums for DidYouKnowGaming?! In March of 2013, VGFacts was launched and this community was merged into the new forums there. These forums were originally taken offline at that time but I brought them back as an archive while transferring sites to the new server. Registrations and all interaction (posting, editing, moderation, etc.) are disabled but everything can still be read. If you're interested in joining the community, head on over to https://www.vgfacts.com/forums/ and join there but I've always thought it was important to preserve a site's roots so these forums will forever be available in this read-only state. Enjoy!

But before I do so, just remember this golden rule (advice from a sentient proofreading humanoid) - If your sentence goes above twenty words and three clauses, be very careful you're not losing the reader. Without a full stop, readers naturally keep the sentence's information in their head. If the sentence goes on and on, the brain has to strain to keep all of that info in its short term memory. That could lead to reading becoming more than just a relaxing way to wind down.
Your first page has six sentences. Four of them hit that limit. Don't hesitate to cut your sentences up.

Where was I...

RE: Book about gamers
Seriously's posts are always so packed with drama and excitement! I must admit I really enjoy reading them! Too bad I can't see the picture here ^_^

P.S. The proofreading software actually did help me. Since I learned my English while watching TV, I had a bit of a problem with writing similarly sounding words... Used to mix than/then, too/to, wander/wonder etc... Also had slight issues with the whole in/at 'rules'. Small, but eye catching things for Native speakers. Of course, nothing beats Human's intelligence, and that's why I am still hoping for a proper proofreading. Good thing is that my 'target audience' doesn't tend to be in the 'Grammar Nazi' mood ^_^

Thank you for explaining that to me. I do feel that the intro was the only part of the book with such issues. Everybody told me that the book is really easy and fun to read.

P.S. It would be great if you could also share your thoughts on the previous two questions I asked Smile
