Book about gamers - T.H.E.E. - 02-11-2013 12:13 AM I know I posted this in the "shameless promotion" part of the forum, but I am guessing not a lot of people go there, lol, and besides... Creative part deserves to have a book there! Especially when it is about gamers! ^_^ Title: Gamers Vs. Zombies-100% True Fictional Story Synopsis (what the book is about): Ian Jones, a 19-year-old gamer from a small town of Arlington Heights, Illinois comes in possession of a weird zombie video game which grants him a job as a full-time game tester/developer. There he meets five other colleagues (including one girl), and they all get introduced with a breathtakingly innovative technology-sensory operated gaming platform. Suddenly, a mysterious and legendary character from the gaming world appears, and at that point it becomes clear that the zombie game is a bit more than just a video game... For a free 11000 word sample (about 15 % of the book) and any additional information, please check out my Facebook page and if possible like it cause I am trying to get the word out there ^_^ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gamers-Vs-Zombies-100-True-Fictional-Story/253024781491365 Needless to say that I would be honored to hear some opinions from those brave enough to give the sample a read! (: RE: Book about gamers - T.H.E.E. - 02-17-2013 08:48 AM Not a single like on my Facebook page and not a single comment here... Maybe this pointless post will change things ^_^ RE: Book about gamers - Psychospacecow - 02-17-2013 08:52 AM Lies, you have 68 likes on your facebook page! RE: Book about gamers - T.H.E.E. - 02-17-2013 09:22 AM I meant from you guys, lol, and it's 69 now, got a new like 20 minutes ago ^_^ RE: Book about gamers - Mass Distraction - 02-17-2013 09:29 AM You're welcome. I want to keep udated on the possible paperback. RE: Book about gamers - T.H.E.E. - 02-17-2013 09:40 AM Oh, it was you! Thank you kindly Henri! I appreciate it! ^_^ I really should work on the possibility of providing the paperback cause it could eventually classify as a cool birthday gift ^_^ but unfortunately my hands are tied. Pretty much who ever read the book (or at least the sample) said that they love it, and nobody spotted any grammar issues, but that doesn't mean they don't exist and I believe it wouldn't be fair to sell a paperback that isn't perfect (or as close to is as possible). Fixing errors in Kindle is easy and all buyers can easily re-download the newly edited issue. RE: Book about gamers - Mass Distraction - 02-17-2013 09:48 AM Noooooooo! My real name! CIA will find me! They are already in my caaaaar D: True story but in any case, I can wait RE: Book about gamers - SERIOUSLY THOUGH - 02-17-2013 10:15 AM I had a quick read of your snippet, and the grammar is mostly fine. The main thing is that I'd look out for run-on sentences that could detract some readers (your second sentence alone counts 48 words and 7 clauses). On the whole though, your writing style and grammar are good. I knew I shouldn't have used your name here, now nobody else will like the page because of it :O @SERIOUSLY, there are only like 3-4 long sentences in the book. I know this because a proofreading software told me that it needed dots in order to check the stuff properly, haha. Go Green Mass Distraction. Buy a cheapo tablet and read books on it. I am speaking from personal experience, lol. It's very enjoyable because you get to scroll the pages with the pen and all ^_^ Here is a link to a great 7" Tablet that costs only 55$ with shipping included and nobody pays customs fees for it when shipped via China Post (or any other post for that matter because the crazy Chinese declare its value on 10$ and say that it is a digital photo frame, lol. China post takes about 10-15 days to arrive). http://www.aliexpress.com/item/NEW-7-inch-android-4-0-Capacitive-Screen-Camera-WIFI-allwinner-a13-tablet-pc/439657132.html P.S. Mass Distraction, could you also tell me what price do you see listed on the book's Amazon link? Cause the 2.99$ price works only for U.S.A., Canada etc... http://www.amazon.com/Gamers-Zombies-100%25-Fictional-Story-ebook/dp/B00AYYJGX4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358877295&sr=8-1&keywords=gamers+vs.+zombies-100+true RE: Book about gamers - Mass Distraction - 02-17-2013 08:45 PM It says $6.19 for me. As for buying a tablet, I can't stand reading books or comics from a screen. It just doesn't work for me. It kinda hurts my eyes. I understand the eye issue. I felt the same before buying the tablet (because I couldn't stand reading anything on my PC), but having real paper in your hands undoubtedly delivers the best sensation, especially before going to bed. RE: Book about gamers - T.H.E.E. - 02-18-2013 08:20 PM Hey guys... I have two questions about this book of mine and it would be great to hear your "thoughts". 1.) When you first read the title name, "Gamers Vs. Zombies-100% True Fictional Story" - what was your reaction? Did you think the title was too simple, if not cheesy sounding, or did you think something in the lines of "Okay, it's pretty straightforward, Gamers against Zombies, cool..." 2.) When you were reading the synopsis, the part that says "Suddenly, a mysterious and legendary character from the gaming world appears, and at that point it becomes clear that the zombie game is a bit more than just a video game..." Did you consider this "legendary character" to be a human being, or some fictional character from video games? Cause he is human, lol. Maybe I should re-write it to "from the gaming SCENE" instead of world? Hmm |
