Any suggestions for reading material? I'm currently reading Cryptonomicon for the second time, which I'd thoroughly recommend to anyone.

RE: Books
I've pretty much read most of Stephen King's books, they're good to just tear through. I can't stand Dan Brown though, I'm afraid. Can't read German myself, but I have read the translation, which is indeed ace.

RE: Books
What genres do you look for?
I normally read fantasy so anything like:
The Legend of Drizzt by R A Salvatore
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
The Codex of Alera by Jim Butcher
The song of Ice and Fire series

Seems you got the good taste already, i wouldn't know what more to reccomend in that case. I know some Dutch books but i doubt there are translated versions.

RE: Books
I don't really have any solid preferences. I don't usually go for fantasy, but I'm willing to give it a go, so maybe I'll have a lookie at some of those suggested ones. Top 5 books, off the top of my head and in no particular order are:

Catch 22 - Joseph Heller
East of Eden - John Steinbeck
A Wild Sheep Chase - Haruki Murakami
Cat's Cradle - Kurt Vonnegut
Money - Martin Amis

RE: Books
Kafka by the Shore, by Haruki Murakami.

Actually, read anything that guy has written. He's REALLY good at writing surreal stuff.

Fun fact: Haruki Murakami wrote a novel collection together with the guy who created the Mother series/Earthbound.

Yeah, I love Murakami, I've read all his books. Kafka on the Shore is amazing. Talking cats!

RE: Books
Reading material, eh? Well, have you read the incredibly funny series called "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" yet? If you didn't, then you should read it! If you already DID read it, read it again!

Yeah, I've read and enjoyed the Discworld books. Not read that High Castle one though, maybe I'll give it a go.

Anyone fancy posting me a copy for free? Ahem.
