RE: Wii-U
Actually I had mine pre-ordered from Shopto.net for a while. I cancelled it yesterday because I reaaaally don't need this. I'll wait till January for a better deal. £320 for the premium WiiU Zombie Edition Super Turbo. Meh, I think it's smart if I wait. No really ball grabbing games at launch. Nintendoland and ZombieU...eh.

I'm holding off until next year after I get my taxes back. This year my kids will get a 360 instead.

Good choice. The wii u looks like it isn't going to be as good as I hoped.

I'm not preordering because I'm still saving up money. Just another 300 dollars and I'll be all good.

I do think the system has potential, it's just the third party games they have I'm getting on the Xbox and their first party titles just aren't enough to warrant the buy in price right now. Plus, my kids are so used to the Xbox and it's just plain cheaper at this point.

My same problem(if you want to call it that). Buying a WiiU now would mean the only games I would get are NintendoLand and ZombieU. Everything else is on Xbox. Then in the new year there's DmC5, Bioshock Infinite and Dead Space which means I probably won't be on the WiiU for a while. The technology of the WiiU however, is awesome.

As you said, same problem for me but instead it'll be GTAV, Far Cry 3, and Dead Island Riptide that keep me on the Xbox. If Nintendo can push out a new Mario title, that isn't 2D, in HD, I'm freaking there. Or Paper Mario, a full fledged Paper Mario console title (I want a 3DS for Stick Star) would make me jump on the WiiU.

I don't even know if I want ZombiU or not. The only other game I actually want is New Super Mario Bros. U. So I figure that it's just better to wait until they get more first party games out.

RE: Wii-U
Aww man Sad well you guys do know that nintendo is launching it at a loss and said they will not be lowering it anytime soon. (much like they did with the wii, which didnt see a price drop for 3 years i think?) I only have 2 real life friends getting it and neither of them are getting the same games. Sad

Also for those multiplatform games the WiiU will have the best online! Pictochat and Instant messaging live anytime. Pause to Video chat anytime. Take Screenshots, Comment on specfic part of the games! (Can't see the comment until you reach that part of a game, designed to discuss spoiler free, //I can't believe hero A killed hero B!//omg I beat that in 30 seconds! look at the time in this screenshot!) Plus there's more unreleased miiverse and Nintendo Network features they still haven't announced! Oh and it's free.. for those playing on 360

Edit: Come on I need a blops2 buddy for zombies, we will be best friends forever.

edit2: Also remember for those getting multiplatform games on other consoles that the WiiU has more then twice the disc read speed and 4 times the RAM!

I highlighted in bold why I have been holding off buying a WiiU. That's one of the worst points to give (and but it's true). The fact that we still don't know much about the WiiU and it's being released THIS MONTH is pretty bad. Basically buying a console at this point assuming you're going to get more. I don't know any other console that's not released this much information so close to launch.

Also (for me) the Wii this generation put me off taking Nintendo consoles seriously. I don't use my Wii except for the exclusives like Zeldas, Marios and recently Xenoblade Chronicles. The Xbox 360 (and PS3) have given what I wanted as a gamer and now my gaming profile is placed on the Xbox. I don't see myself going out to buy 3rd party titles like Batman: AC, Darksiders 2, Bioshock Infinite when I can get them on the Xbox and continue with the new Xbox (keeping my gaming profile).

I don't have any research or evidence to back what I say, but I would think there are people in the same position as me-who bought an Xbox/PS3 because the Wii didn't give gamers what they wanted. Now that the WiiU is out, those gamers have a large PS3/Xbox library with all their save Data, achievements, game profiles, friends etc.

I wouldn't mind the price if there were more games I could play on it. Like I said, the third party titles I want I'm getting on the 360. There's various reasons for this, like getting achievements and certain online games like Black Ops 2 my buddies will be playing.

(11-04-2012 11:55 PM)Skarro Wrote:  Also for those multiplatform games the WiiU will have the best online!

That's simply not true. Straight away, voice chatting on the Wii U is going to be a huge pain in the ass. On top of that, if you choose to use the ProController, and I would because it's the 360's design, you have to keep the Gamepad near you so you can keep the mic plugged in at all times.

Even then, you have to have the right games that support voice chat, since you can't just start a group or party like the 360. Also, Nintendo's unproven when it comes to online, sure they've dabbled in it before, but I have more faith in Sony's online then Nintendo's. It'll be interesting to see how Nintendo handles Black Ops 2 being online.

(11-04-2012 11:55 PM)Skarro Wrote:  Pictochat and Instant messaging live anytime. Pause to Video chat anytime. Take Screenshots, Comment on specfic part of the games! All that sounds neat but I wouldn't use it even though it's going to be free. The pennies a day I pay for Xbox Live give me the ability to party up with my friends and access various apps. Just because something's free doesn't make it better. Wink

(11-04-2012 11:55 PM)Skarro Wrote:  Edit: Come on I need a blops2 buddy for zombies, we will be best friends forever.

Get a 360, there's plenty of us that will be on there playing. lol

That's great, but it's up to the developers to take advantage of the hardware. There's absolutely no guarantee that the games will look or run faster on the Wii U.
