The Wii-U WILL have achievments. It was leeked that they are called "Accomplishments" some racing game developer (can't remember who) offered a job and one of the sections said "working with ps3 trophies and wii-u accomplishments"

Skimmed over this thread really quick so probably missed questions but I should be able to answer any, been following the Wii-U hard.
WOOO, COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[Update:]
Just found a source for these "Accomplishments": Source
Although it doesn't look like the Wii will have an equivalent to the PS3's Platinum trophy (something I really like about the PS3's Trophy system.) Still, it's very nice to hear that the Wii U will have a system in place.

I'm not sure what sarcasm you're referring to, but if it was supposed to be my post, you're sadly mistaken, because I wasn't being sarcastic at any point.

RE: Wii-U
Sounds pretty cool. I do enjoy Achievements/Trophies so now there's a reason for playing Zelda differently (optional).
*Wap*

{Bomberman - 50 coins }
{Beat Zelda 1 using only bombs }

RE: Wii-U
Well Nintendo isn't "forcing" accomplishments like Sony/Microsoft so for each game you just gotta hope.

Tho remember there is live screenshots in every game at any moment so if you can still try to do things in a certain time or something, snap it and upload.

What do you mean "forcing"? Like it's unpleasant or something...

As in PlayStation 3 and X-box 360 game developers are forced to make Achievments and Trophies. If they do not want to they still have to....Can't make it any more clear then that aha.

Edit: But don't get me wrong I think that is a good thing, and I wish Nintendo was doing it.

RE: Wii-U
To be honest, I think achievements in Nintendo's 1st parties would sort of ruin it, we didn't see it this gen and I don't want to see it next, but I wouldn't mind it their 3rd parties though, I just hope it isn't like "go here and do this and then finish it" for the achievement.

What I do hope to see are collections, I don't really know who here is going to buy Mass Effect 3 for the Wii U, it seems a bit stupid, but how many of you would buy the "Wii U Mass Effect collection"? (it's not real) many people who may have never played the series would love this, rather than just the final game which was bad.

Also I hope they make Gamecube games backwards compatible, as I've said before.

Why does it matter? If you don't care about them, what's the difference? Just don't bother with them. On the other hand, I'm sure they'll be just like the achievements/trophy's for Xbox and PS3. What do you mean you hope it's not like "go here and do this and then finish it"? That's extremely vague. I don't think they'll be extremely vague.
Probably stuff like this:
Collect 1000 coins
complete the game
find all the star coins
fly for x seconds with the raccoon tail
Use every power in the game
Collect 1000 bananas in one level
complete the game without using Diddy Kong
stuff like that...

Well, I certainly wouldn't care about a Mass Effect collection, but I definitely would like to see collections.

Gamecube games are not backwards compatible. They've already confirmed this. They will likely be downloadable.

RE: Wii-U
You do understand that everything necessary to play GC games is on the Wii-U gamepad and/or the Pro controller, right?
And on that note, you clearly don't own a PS3, because if you did, you would know that the memory card issue is also not an issue, and they could just have digital memory cards.
Your ignorance does not amuse me.

RE: Wii-U
I may be a little late to hear in this thread, but WOO! ACCOMPLISHMENTS!
Pretty awesome, I also hope they add something similar to a Platinum trophy. For some reason I love going for those.

EDIT- I just saw in the article confirming the accomplishments saying that they should be called "U Did It"s. I'm just putting this because that is an awesome idea.

how do you transfer ps2 saves to ps3 legitly? Is it really "backwards compatible" if you can't use your old memory-card? seems closer to emulation.
