Typically, people with shorter hair (such as myself) get it trimmed or cut on a regular basis, and have to more often than those with longer hair in order to keep the shape and style. So don't worry too much about that, just don't go out of your way to scrub the ends of your hair.

If you have more of a buzz cut, don't worry at all. If you have more of a shorter-style shaggy cut, it's ok if some shampoo gets on ther, just don't scrub the ends with shampoo.
