The life-in-general help me thread
I'm not after any advice or anything at the moment, I just thought it'd be nice if any forum members were seeking advice and other members could help them. Be it homework, lovelife or anything.

We're all here to help each other, right? Group hug?

RE: The life-in-general help me thread
I'm always looking for legitimate gigs writing, or putting together entertainment for people. I guess if anyone knows of any media outlets looking for entertainment/humor columnists (video games and the like) or a show/series about video games (I have one in the works but ideas for three others I can pick up or drop), or even an anime or furry con looking for talent, I am around. I'm not really too interested in free work, though. "Free" doesn't pay bills, and I cannot afford to dump resources into something that wont have at least a small immediate benefit to my finances. I'll do convention shows for free, though, just as long as lodging and travel is covered because I cannot afford it.

So, there's my "IRL help" request. I guess. Sad

edit: I have a "portfolio" of previous writing at http://www.gatoraids.com. For people interested in the convention side of things, there is http://www.facebook.com/FakeCFMMPage. I do not have videos of my gigs up, the last show I did the audio was bad and we couldn't use it. Next gig is in September, and I will try to have it recorded properly.

RE: The life-in-general help me thread
im so glad someone made this.
I love to help others and if anyone needs to vent, I'll be your buddy. I'll give the best comfort and advice that I can. Even if you want to send a personal message instead of just blurting it out on this thread, I'll answer.

I'm a sad panda most of the time and life hasn't treated me well in the past few years so...if I ever need to search for an answer I can't find myself...I hope everyone here can try and help me out Smile

I have no problem with sharing my wisdom with you folks. In fact, I would be glad to help with any problems you may have.

Need to vent? Having life problems? General questions? Shoot me a PM, I'll be happy to help.

*Edit - Look, I've been around a lot in life. I've experienced many things and been in many situations. I might not have all the answers, but I'll be damned if I won't try to help.

I just happen to be the guy that has troubles getting over a girl WOO! Big Grin
But I kinda got that covered.

Then I just need someone who can produce ambient music for a game I'm working on. I also just need to stop playing so many video games and put more time into doing art studies and just getting better at drawing.

Well there's still the matter of a cantaloupe on my table staring at me. Some people were giving me suggestions before on how to deal with the situation but SOMEBODY locked the thread...

I know you said you "got this" but I know how you feel. Sounds like you were the one who was dumped, so I know this sucks. I've been in your position many times myself. Sad

In the immediate scope of things you're probably looking back on the relationship with rose tinted glasses and upset that you have all of these good times with someone and now it's over. All the nuances and things that irked you about her (they exist) aren't shining through right now. They will eventually, and you will soon be thankful things ended now rather than later when it only would've hurt more and more.

My boyfriend dumped me after a few months of dating and after we had known each other for about 2 years. His reasoning? He didn't want to come out to his family. That's lame. I understand the circumstances and when it happened I was pissed and I was hurt. I then realized he wasn't going to stick up for me or defend our relationship, so no matter how great it was it was NEVER going to work out.

Try to keep that in mind. Smile

You know CFMM, despite the fact that homosexuality has been around for thousands of years - it's staggering how unacceptable it still is to some people :/

It doesn't matter how far we evolve as a species, there will still be so many people with closed minds.

RE: The life-in-general help me thread
Well I do kind of got this. Each time it's happend (twice) I sat there thinking "Why am I sad about losing her?" First girlfriend made sense for the break up. We had very little in common, and she got on my ass about how often I swear.

The most recent one, who was the one to break up with me same with the first one so you're right, we got along well. Though the relationship lasted a month or so, we had much in common. The only thing we couldn't share easily was gaming. It's been like, 2 months since the break up, but it's fadding. So that's a good thing. Possibly... My mind jumps to many conclusions. The way she worded the break up kind of left the option of the possibility of getting back together later. If not, then I'm at least glad me and her are still friends. Some may say it's a bad idea to stay friends with her, but I think that would have made me felt A LOT worse.

But man, that had to of sucked for you. But in the long run, we're all going to find someone for us. Life goes on, we meet new people. In the end you'll find someone you love, or if you chose to, stay alone doing what ever you want.

Try not to look at it this way, you'll just open yourself up for hurt again. It ended for a reason, but true that does not mean you cannot be friends. Between you and me (and everyone reading this)? My best best best IRL friend in the whole world is a girl I foolishly dated to try and not be gay. It ended horribly, but we are absolute BFFs. Smile So there is always that possibility if you can make it not awkward. XD

As for me, don't worry about me. Gays have it bad but mind you I live in Texas which isn't the best place to be gay. My ex was also native Chinese so in his defense there's that whole cultural norm of family and whatnot, so there's more to it than just "CFMM got dumped, ex-BF was a fartknocker". I will be okay. Or I should be. Maybe not, but whatever.

RE: The life-in-general help me thread
Break ups are rough but they always lead to learning more about yourself, your preferences in a partner, and new discoveries.

I was in a mentally abusive relationship for a year and the only person who I ever confided about it in was my best guy friend who was also in a very abusive relationship at the time. When I was finally strong enough to leave my relationship, he was strong enough to leave his.

Now my best friend and I have been together for two years and I have no regrets. I wish my past relationship never happened but I was really young and stupid and if it didn't happen, who knows? I might not be together with my current boyfriend. I wouldn't have known what I now know.

Everything happens for a reason and things get better. There is someone out there for everyone.

RE: The life-in-general help me thread
Yeah you guys do have good points and they kind of helped.

@CFMM
The only bit of the friendship being awkward is just the way I think things thru. I'm someone who over analyzes things so when I brought up trying to help her get a job were I'm most likely to get hired I told her I'm doing it as a friend lol. Just a general thing I need to work on for myself which I'm getting better at. But yeah, so far being friends is going fine but had a rocky start the first week after the break up. But that's to be expected, eh?

@PikaPikari
Yeah dating/break ups/meeting new people even really help with discovering yourself. What you find attractive in a partner, what you want in a friend, stuff like that. And breaking up with someone is just an example of the "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Bums me out it didn't work out with her and it's still going to make me feel down, but life goes on. Hell, this break up taught me I need to be more emotionally vulnerable.

Hey I am going into Psychology and possibly into therapy/psychotherapy and if anyone DOES need any help with situations then I will be more then happy to listen to your problems/situations and while I will offer advice you do not need to follow it but maybe give it some thought.
