For you when did the Simpsons start going downhill?
We're all aware that the simpsons isnt the genius it once was, but for those who watch it about what Season did it start going downhill? For me it was around 14 - 15 (around 2003 - 04) even though I do still like these episodes after that The Simpsons lost their wit. 17 - 18 (around 2007 - 08) however is when The Simpsons officially died. Now they're in there mid 20's its getting ridiculous.

RE: Canyonero *whip crack*
Yeah I think season 15 I stopped watching. They're on season 21 now I think. Ridonculous. I LOVE The Simpsons though. So bloody funny; all the early episodes. Seen them all so many times (pre-season 15 that is).

Two of my favourite scenes.

That animation should be illegal if you have as big budget as Simpsons has.

Seriously, two frames for Maggeys handshake? Could they get any lazier?

Two seasons ago at least, when all the jokes are starting to look alike.

I've never seen any Simpsons episodes with the new opening, but nice catch.
I think it's also worth (or not) worth mention....this. :/

They had
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
The Who
R.E.M
U2
Blink-182
Areosmith

Later
50 Cent and Kesha...why?

The death of Phil Hartman staggered my love of Simpsons for a bit. I mean, even before I saw the Simpsons I had grown up watching the guy (Captain Carl on the Pee-Wee Herman Show/Pee-Wee's Playhouse, Dennis the Menace, Saturday Night Live,etc.). It still feels weird not seeing Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz.

As for when I really started to lose interest... I believe it was around 2004/2005..... seasons 14 and 15?

I've only just realised that I haven't seen any new 'Hello, I'm Troy McClure...' moments recently Sad

This saddens me

The peak of the Simpsons was season 7/8. After season 10 it quickly became cringeworthy.

Same. Both of those were my favorite characters in Simpsons.

It got awful way before the movie. Then, weirdly, I thought the movie was quite good. Then it carried on being awful.

I stil enjoyed the episodes though '06 and '07, although admittedly they weren't as good as before, but after that you could really feel the repeating jokes and lack of originality the show once had.

No No I still think after Season 10 there were good episodes, as they still based them on the characters, while now they're just about zany antics.

RE: For you when did the Simpsons start going downhill?
I find that they are still funny however they are sort of doing what South Park is doing which is using things in real life to influence their episodes.
I have no idea WHY they have these newer song people doing songs for them when they had all sorts of AWESOME people on the show before.
Also I miss Troy D:
I haven't watched the series in a loooooong time BUT I do remember the show back when I was like 14 or 15 and it was still pretty darn awesome. I just think the originality from the first 9 or 10 seasons has vanished and they need events that have happened somewhat recently to get a plot for an episode.
