De Block - Game concept art.
After browsing here for several hours I can see we have more than a few brilliant graphics designers and I figured you guys and gals would be interested in some concept art I made for a game I'm working on.

Comments and criticism is always appreciated:

As you may be able to tell from the image the game is a platformer, I decided I wanted to make a game similar to that of Yoshi's island in terms of both style and creativity in level design.

Looks great. You should post some more. It's hard to get a real impression of a game from a single image.

Thanks it's an honour coming from you! It's weird to have an Admin that isn't ominous and silent, I'm used to that kinda admin. It's actually pretty awesome to have one that is involved in the community, Also DAT PIXEL ART, I'm sorry Admin but that pixel is so fantastic!!!

If you're going to make it similar to Yoshi's Island, do not make it like the combat.

I swear gulping up enemies, to throw eggs, timing the shot, and then jumping up or down to get to the target is tiresome and annoying.

It'd be nice if you could shoot some sort of projectile the direction you face, like Megaman, if that's the combat style.

@Zaliphone: Yeah, Hopefully - The actually programming of the game will take a while as I have no prior experience with the language I'm using however, I did learn a decent amount of HTML and actionscript myself so I should be fine.

@retrolinkx: By similar to Yoshi's Island I meant a distinct art style and a variety of levels that all contain some form of new concept. Also I loved the combat of Yoshi's Island, It's actually my favourite platform game!

It's a nod to the game 'De Blob', a game that started as a indie game that ultimately became published as a Wii game.
