Your best Gamecube memory?

I'm in the Luigi's Mansion boat, too! Loved, loved, LOVED that game! I replayed it recently just to see that so called "hanging shadow" myself. Sure I know it was just oddly rendered, but that doesn't change that it is pretty creepy.

Rayman 3 is another precious memory. I was so excited for it to come out and as the opening cut scene started I said "They'd better not forget my Teensies!". Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The Teensie doctors absolutely made my day, but I did miss Ly. I hope they bring her back sometime.

I still wonder just what sort of plants Romeo had to go off and water...

Pretty much the entire last generation was gold. Nintendo were constantly crapping out class A games and life back then was AWESOME.
One I remember is playing Smash Bros Melee with my 3 close friends. Just constantly playing that game.
Or when I was excited I received Sonic Adventure 2 battle in the post, but had to wait till I finished school to play it.
Seeing the advert for Zelda Wind Waker
When I bought the legendary RE4 (All 3 friends and I excited about that) which I still play to this day on every consoles it's appeared on.
When I broke my RE2/3 cases
Playing Viewtiful Joe
Playing Super Mario Sunshine
Playing DBZ Budokai 1
I can name so much more.

The Gameboy Player (I think that's what it was called). Being able to play Pokemon Emerald on a decently sized screen was amazing. Playing Animal Crossing and Smash Bros. non-stop was great, it was always better with friends.

That's the only memory. Just kidding, one of my best memories is SSBM tournaments.

But I never did actually own a gamecube.

Reading BumblebeeCody's reply reminded me of another memory. I got a Dream Cast extremely late so I played Sonic Adventure for the first time on the Cube. To this day I still actually get bummed out if the subject of Gamma's death comes up because it's the only "suicide" to even be in an E rated game. I didn't see it coming at all and as a kid it just really got to me. Stupid, I know, but I got really attached to him.

Me and my brother would race on Double Dash all the time, I loved them times. And he was young and would get bored so Id finish the race for him.

Super Mario Sunshine, and getting to the Carnival place and me and my father jumping out of our seats going: 'YEEEE!'

Metroid Prime, beating the Rock Monster after about 20 mins of shooting. I swear that A button will never be the same.
And yeh, Rayman 3 for me too. The jumping missions on the skateboard thing was hard!

Besides playing most of the kick ass games mentioned in this thread, one of my favorite memories was when I figured out you can play different sounds on the start up screen. When I first did it it freaked me out alittle cause I thought something was wrong (mostly because there was a laugh at the end, that did it for me) but after a while it became something cool to show my brothers and friends. Then there was this one time when my cousins came over and I told them about it. We had four controllers, so we all held z.

Saving up to buy Wind Waker with the Ocarina of Time disc with it, I eventually did and when I bought it, I remember coming home, getting really mad because master quest wasn't in it, and then finding out it was in the Ocarina of time disc, I put Wind Waker in, and these times, were when a new console game would bring my 2 brothers to watch the intro in the dark, so as it showed the intro screen, we waited for the "hero story" that you get before you started wind waker, and watched it, we then went on to start Wind Waker, and what was the first thing you get which is so long and unskippable? Anyhow, after this, I played for about 20 minutes, then my brother wanted a turn and I went outside the room to play with a newly bought Beyblade.

Another Memory I had was when me, my mother and brother went to another town over, and my brother bought Pokémon Colosseum there, I also remember finding a lot of toys for a cheap price, which I bought and kept, as we got home, me and brother waited at the start screen, because my other brother wouldn't wake up, so all we did was look at the title screen and that's it.

When he did wake up, me and him got out our Pokémon games, and started battling on Pokémon Colosseum with them, I won due to Swampert being better than Blazekin and also it being level 100.

Gamecube, Dreamcast, Xbox and PS2 were all great consoles last gen.

This gen however...

Yeah indeed. But I think it might be because we all grew up. Going over to each others house when we could relax and have fun. But that's because we were couldn't get a proper job (being too young) or drive or had bills to pay etc. But when you're in your twenties you can't keep doing that now. Online takes out the need to play at each others house now. I wouldn't say gen is bad but you won't get those memories of playing Mario Party 9. It's why Nintendo need to join in online gaming with much stronger presence.

OH and, E3 last generation was awesome. I can't name a single bad E3 from last generation. E3 2004 was the best.

Odd how last generation lasted 4/5 years and this generation has been going for 8 years and is still going. There are still games coming out for PS2 (Like Fifa 13).

My best gamecube memory? Not having one.

Even though some of my friends had gamecubes and some of the games seemed amazing when I saw them while renting games for my old 64, I really couldn't see the appeal that console had.
Still, I wish I could try Wind Waker and Pikmin.

If you have an older version of the Wii, the ones with the Gamecube controller ports, you'll be able to get Wind Waker and play it on your Wii. I found 107 copies of the game for $29.99 on Ebay. That's what sucks about the current versions of the Wii, they've lost the Cube backwards compatibility.

My favorite memories:

- Playing and beating Need for Speed Underground. I'm not a racing fan by any means, and I was glued to that game the entire time I had it.

- Resident Evil 4, going through that game, I lived alone when I had it and it scared the shit outta me. That damn purple box staring me down, chainsaw's going off, fucking hell!

- Super Mario Sunshine, a game that many fans overlook, easily one of the best Mario games made.

- James Bond 007 Nightfire and Agent Under Fire, a return to form for James Bond in the gaming world.

I loved the Gamecube, it's library of games (plenty of quality titles) and it's controller.
