Does the Goron Tunic actually defend?
I've been playing Ocarina of Time and its 3DS remake for years now, and I have had no indication that the Goron Tunic increases your defense in any way. Even when I test it on flaming/non-flaming enemies, it still doesn't really make a difference. Is this just a common misconception?

The Goron/Zora tunics only purposes to assist link against the elements.
Allowing him to endure the heat and breathe under water. Not increase his defense.

Edit: I sound really robotic.
Hmmm

Nah, the Goron tunic only lets you withstand heat, yo!

Thought so. I guess it is a common myth...so many people seem to think this. This wouldn't be a viable DYKG submission, would it?

'Beauty' being the keyword there.
