Here is a good site describing the history of Mardi Gras and what it's all about. The boobs are NOT a part of the celebration, nor are they tradition. They are simply the doings of needy women desperate for attention.

It's advertised as everything you said. I know what the meaning of Mardi Gras is but doesn't seem the rest is. I always thought it was about boobs.
