SUPERHEROES!!!
Simple thread about superheroes. Do you stand by Marvel? DC? Image Comics? Wildstorm? Movies, comics, animations... Everything goes! State your favorites and whatevs.

Me, I'm more of a Marvel comics fan. I do like some DC stuff, mainly Batman, and some Image Comics stuff like Spawn.

In any case, my favorite superheroes from Marvel are definitely Deadpool, Gambit and Spiderman. Mainly Deadpool. That crazy asshole. Totally excited for the upcoming game!

I got the idea for this thread as I just saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine and while it certainly was an entertaining movie they got one thing horribly wrong... Why does "The Merc With A Mouth" not have a mouth?!? He did have that epic katana scene at the beginning but still!

RE: SUPERHEROES!!!
Definitely Marvel. With, so far, the only DC character I like is Batman. Well, because he's Batman.

And when it comes to Marvel, I pretty much like everyone. Haven't came across anyone I've hated... yet.

RE: SUPERHEROES!!!
I've had very little contact with superhero material. I read a few comics here and there but couldn't tell you much more than their name and what they kind of do Smile

It tends to be hit and miss with the films they make, though that may be because I'm not attached to the characters as much as someone who reads the comics

RE: SUPERHEROES!!!
I'm also more Marvel than DC. The only DC thing I really enjoy is Batman. I love the Avengers and most of their respective movies. (The Hulk is the exception)

By far my favorite is Captain America. I love the story of little weak guy with balls of steel becomes big strong guy with balls of steel.

RE: SUPERHEROES!!!
I've been thinking that I should get myself acquainted better with all kinds of heroes. The first thing I should do is propably getting the collected edition of Cable & Deadpool, so I know more about their past shenanigans before even thinking about getting the game.

RE: SUPERHEROES!!!
I keep with as much as I can. Unlike gaming, comic sare a cheap hobby. Games are around £40 while comics are £2-£3 so it's easy to keep up with. That and having Forbidden Planet nearby helps(Plus Orbital and eBay) or watching people such as: Comicbookgirl19, Stadium Comics or Comic Vine on YouTube. So far I'm loving Avengers vs Xmen. A solid story that's well worth reading if you want something to read and join everyone else in a new awesome story arc.

I guess I'm gonna be boring but I'd say Spiderman is my favourite Marvel Hero. Really because of the attachment I grew with him with finally having my own generation series to follow (ultimate Spiderman). I read Ultimate Spiderman since issue one when I was 11, through secondary school, A levels and college till his death last year. That's it really. I read a lot of Marvel, constantly play the games (Marvel Alliance/UMvC3) watch the films(Still not seen Avengers yet) and I'm often keeping with up-to-date with the Universe (Rocket Raccoon, New Xmen, Fearless Defenders, Hit-girl etc).

For DC, I haven't up with lately but I have a crap ton of those comics too and do buy the odd issue every now and then. The same of Marvel applies to DC. Looking forward to Injustice. I don't buy the comics anymore but I have multiple friends who are far more into comics than I so I keep my knowledge relevant with the times.

For others like Image, I'm currently reading Hack/Slash. Hilarious, gory, sexy just generally awesome.
Cassie Hack [Image: Kreygasm.png]. Well worth reading if you want something mindless(in a good way) to read.

A top-notch Dark Horse comic series is Empowered. I recently bought their incredible Hyrule Historia too. They also made the Alice: Madness Returns art book and that is just as high quality(in productions/size/and paper) that Hyrule Historia is.

RE: SUPERHEROES!!!
The problem here is that not a lot of places sell comics that are published monthly or weekly. Well, other than Donald Duck, Uncle Scrooge and a lot of variable manga. Then, of course, there are actual comic stores but those are very few and only located in major cities. At least I can buy some interesting manga from nearby stores but if I actually want to keep up with regular comics I just have to get the collected editions. It's easier that way.

RE: SUPERHEROES!!!
I've always preferred Marvel over DC, Batman being the only DC hero I really care about.

I like Spiderman, Deadpool and some others a lot, but I care more about the overall settings and what's happening in the comics' world as a whole, so I pay more attention when there's a big event (like Civil War) going on.

Also, I'm under the impression that Ultimate Marvel universe is more "believable" and "adult" than the standard Earth-616 Marvel universe, so I guess I like the ultimate version of some heroes (Thor, for instance) more.

RE: SUPERHEROES!!!
Batman definitely seems to be the go-to DC superhero around here Big Grin The ironic part is, he isn't really all that super as far as special powers go.

There are eBay shops y'know. Generally cheaper too.

RE: SUPERHEROES!!!
DC, it always seems to have the most interesting heroes, and villains.

Batman being my favorite, followed by Booster Gold.

Marvel is cool too, but I'd rather watch a film about DC, than Marvel.

Yeah but getting them there one issue at a time isn't really all that great. Getting a bunch of them at once isn't all that great either as, like I've already mentioned, the dicks in charge decided it's a good idea to make everything ordered from outside the country cost double the price with import taxes.

Protectionism, you're doing it right (but oh so wrong).
