RE: Dreaded parts in games.
I hate it when I die many times in some games and when I respawn there's some new NPC asking me if it you would like to have the level beaten for you. I really hate these super guides because when they show up it feels like the game is saying, "Oh, you really suck at this game, but that's okay! I'll hold your hand through the rest of the level so you don't lose anymore lives!" It really just feels like an insult to the player and just takes away the challenge aspect of some games if they are willing to do it for you.

I concur. It's worse than those No Shit Sherlock hints games give you. The most painful facepalms I've had with those have been in Castlevania: LoS when the game told me that "Falling down to a pit kills you" and "Touching lava will hurt you". Regarding those hints, it's even more annoying if an NPC keeps telling you them.

They're also in every mario game. And it's frustrating. Like on one level in Super Mario 3D Land, I died probably around 8 times trying to grab a coin... then I get this little box that apparently makes me invincible for the entire level (it's not the star, I forgot the actual item name). I grabbed it thinking that it was to help me beat the level (like I'll see a random item box in an area). It really annoyed me. So after that, I went back and beat it myself.

I just hate Super Guides. Sure, I get that they're there to help the kiddos, but they feel insulting to me.

Basically everything in Final Fantasy 13. So I get through the game okay, upgraded stuff here and there thinking that it was vital on how I played. Once I got to the 4th or 5th boss, my upgrades apparently were crap and couldn't do anything. Oh and there really isn't a way to go around that. Basically the game is just lying around somewhere till i'm sane enough to play it again.

While not exactly related to the Super Guide thing, this is similar.

I hate the 'lives' system in games. It's pointless. Rayman Origins did it right with giving you unlimited tries. No going back to the beginning of the level, no game over from deaths. The fact that other games still use lives is absurd.

What about the shit story and characters? Or what about the fact the game never really explains anything in the story itself, forcing you to search for the answers in the "datalogs?" Or how about....

I could go on about why FF13 was terrible, but I'm assuming I won't have to.
