EDIT: Just got the new Paper Mario, I'll update when I beat it, but it's definitley getting a few awards from me.
Best game of 2012
Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, great game in a great series, best combat from the series yet, the Dream Eaters were cool and not just crappy sidekick replacements like I had feared, it looks, feels, and plays great, plus I love the storyline :3
Worst game of 2012
No vote.

Best:
Sound design/Soundtrack
Kingdom Hearts 3D, again.... the Fantasia World sound effects were awesomely made.
Graphics
iunno, Halo I suppose.
New gameplay mechanic
The Dream Drops in KH3D, they were a fun and welcome change from the Gummy Ship.
Boss battle
....once again, Kingodm Hearts 3D (I didn't buy too many games this year -.-)
Not just for the sweet 92-formed boss at the end of Riku's story, but the Julian secret Boss Battle post-game nailed the formula perfectly. It was challenging as hell, although admittedly not quite as hard as Sephiroth in KH2, but he was just hard enough not to feel cheap, and there was a compelling reason to keep trying to beat him since you get a sweet Keyblade if you beat him.
Engine physics
Train Simulator 2013.... biatch
Ending
Kingdom Hearts...
New character
Protagonist
Riku in Kingdom Hearts, he really developed himself as his own character in this one, instead of just being a cliche anti-hero like he was in certain previous titles.
Antagonist
Xehanort, Kingdom Hearts. The dude is badass.
Supporting character
Mickey, if nothing else because he
froze time
Cinematic(Pre-rendered/In-game)
Kingdom Hearts memory sequence cutscenes, really well made.
Developer of the year
