Well, I actually like stuff like that. Even though I'm pretty sure that a lot of my choices aren't going to be the winning choices (I think Borderlands 2 is better then Assassin's Creed III), it's still fun to see what other people thinks.

There's also the fact that there are some games I haven't tried yet (and that I want to play) but are in the list of the best yadi-yada game of the year, so it makes me want to play it more.

60% of the GOTY nominees shouldn't of been nominated

ACIII and Dishonored are fine. Should've had Halo 4 and Borderlands 2.

Of course, the best games this year don't even get nominated. AND that's why I don't care for the awards part of the VGA's.

Not played Halo 4 but from what I've heard, they've done an amazing job. At first it's all "oh they're milking the series" but it's apparently a welcome entry. Borderlands 2 should be nominated because they stepped the game up in everyway. They did what sequels are meant to do.

Not played (and completed) AC: III or Dishonored but the list seems true to what I said before about certain obvious games appearing. I'd easily put Tekken Tag 2 for (my personal) Game of the Year, but with other games like Journey, FFXIII-2, Awesomenauts, Darksiders 2, RE6, Lollipop Chainsaw, Sleeping Dogs, The Witcher 2 even Pokemon Black 2 and SOOOO many others which deserve a mention. Eh. Award ceremonies in general for films and music are just as bad.

Well, as usually VGA's have already got off to a bad start.

COTY Nominations:
Connor
Shepard
Claptrap
Master Chief
Raul Menendez

It's really hard to choose between all these complex and multilayered personalities.

Also, gotta love the choices of the Xbox, and PS3 games.

PS3 GOTY Nomination

Bordelands 2
Dishonored
Journey

At least last year had SOME variety.

I guess the people who nominate this stuff just looks at the most popular, and puts it on there.

And thus we have the Game, Music and Film awards in a nutshell.

I fail to see how Shepard can be character of the year. When you play Halo or Assassins Creed, you're playing the role of that character. When you play Shepard, you're creating your own Shepard who made the choice of 'romancing X' or 'killing y'. Also, what Shepard? BroShep or FemShep? Shepard isn't a character. Stupid stupid...

The only few characters who stood out for me this year where
Caius Ballad (FFXIII-2)
Handsome Jack(Borderlands 2) (Probably would vote him)
Peacock (Skullgirls)

And thus is why I never watch an award show for the awards. Actually, I've never watched a music or a film award show ever (unless the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards count).

Like I said earlier, I only watch the VGA's for the game reveals.

I don't think HL2 deserved game of the decade. It's a good game, but there are many better games.

Seriously there are games just as good if not better than Half-life. Half-life is up there an- while typing this sentence I just realised I'm trying to understand VGA logic...hmm.....nevermind.

Nothing. I bought Journey on day one. I'm saying it's funny how people actually think Journey even has a chance against Assassins Creed or CoD. Not because they are better (which is a matter of opinion) but because Journey is a game that requires time to appreciate. You really think mindless gamer drones are even going to look an image of Journey and think that looks good?

Oh you meant it that way. Makes sense.

Journey did win three categories though. Best PS3 game, best indie game and best original music.
