Welcome to the former forums for DidYouKnowGaming?! In March of 2013, VGFacts was launched and this community was merged into the new forums there. These forums were originally taken offline at that time but I brought them back as an archive while transferring sites to the new server. Registrations and all interaction (posting, editing, moderation, etc.) are disabled but everything can still be read. If you're interested in joining the community, head on over to https://www.vgfacts.com/forums/ and join there but I've always thought it was important to preserve a site's roots so these forums will forever be available in this read-only state. Enjoy!

Man Gets Arrested for Playing Tetris on Airplane
[Image: _38246593_court300.jpg]

On September 10, 2002, Faiz Chopdat, age 23 of Blackburn, Lancashire, was arrested for playing a game of Tetris on his mobile phone during flight on an airplane. It was his return trip from his honeymoon.

It wasn't that he was being disruptive, it was that having a cell phone on during a plane flight can mess with the electronic controls, so it was more a matter of safety.

From CNN.Com:

"He had been warned twice by cabin staff and once by a passenger to switch off the phone, which triggered an argument during the Air 2000 flight on which there was 206 other holidaymakers and six cabin crew.

Chopdat was found guilty by a jury last month of endangering the safety of an aircraft and could have faced a maximum two year jail term.

"

He was given 4 months jail time.

So he was arrested for using his phone, not playing tetris. Meh I would vote no on that being posted as a gaming fact though it was interesting.

Doesn't it apply to all wireless devices.Well then,it is very interesting but this could go to anyone who just decided to play a game that has wireless connection.

RE: Man Gets Arrested for Playing Tetris on Airplane
Although he was playing Tetris, I think it seems a bit misleading that it's implying this was the reason he was arrested. If it was more directly linked it would be a good submission.
