Wink DYKG Video Game Awards *open*
(Anyone want to make a banner)?
This will be open until the 28th of December, giving you time to edit your posts over the month.

-This voting award ...thing is open so for any game to be a potential winner. Unlike other award ceremonies they narrow you down to 5 choices in which the same obvious names appear, this poll will allow you to choose what you think should be the winner.
-Feel free to add images or videos with your chosen game.
-Feel free to add your own description as to why you chose that game.
-If you think I missed any possible categories or some should be changed, let me know.
-Add a spoiler tag where necessary (such as best boss battle).
-You enter as many or as little(1 at minimum obviously) categories as you want as long as it's before the closing date (28th of December)
-You can also add 2 honourable mentions(runner-ups) with your choice

Will the voting be limited to games you've actually played? If not then I nominate Xenoblade Chronicles for best Wii exclusive. I was lightly following the game up until its release and the world seemed pretty cool based on what I saw. I'll add in The Last Story as an honourable mention because these two seemed like the only worthwhile Wii games this year.

Why would you put DS and 3DS in the same category? They're from different generations. Same with PSP and Vita.

Dude has a point.

I've been lurking over at the gearbox forums. There are people who honestly think that Borderlands 2 shouldn't be nominated for GOTY because of a few bugs/glitches (one of them was bad, and I got hit by it also). But to tell them not to get nominated because of how bitter they are is just wrong.

Borderlands 2 is a fantastic game and a complete blast to play solo or co-op.

RE: DYKG Video Game Awards *open*
EDIT: Just got the new Paper Mario, I'll update when I beat it, but it's definitley getting a few awards from me.
Best game of 2012
Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, great game in a great series, best combat from the series yet, the Dream Eaters were cool and not just crappy sidekick replacements like I had feared, it looks, feels, and plays great, plus I love the storyline :3

Worst game of 2012
No vote.

Best Xbox 360 exclusive
Halo 4, since it's the only exclusive I bought this year, I like it and think it's a really fun time.

Best Playstation 3 exclusive
Don't have one

Best Wii exclusive
...did any Wii games come out this year?

Best WiiU exclusive
Didn't get one yet, probably Monster Hunter Tri Deluxe

Best PC exclusive
Diablo 3, despite the hate cloud about it I still had a lot of fun playing it.

Best Nintendo 3/DS exclusive
Kingdom Hearts 3D/ Dream Drop

Best PSP/Vita exclusive
Nope.

Genres
Best ____ of 2012:
FPS
Halo 4

TPS
Naope

Sports

Racing

Fighting game

Adventure

MMO

RPG

Puzzle

Music
Kingdom Hearts 3D, the soundtrack is always great with Kingdom Hearts

Simulation
Train Simulator 2013...bitch

Strategy

Stealth
Dishonered, love the game.

Survival Horror

Game design
Best:
Sound design/Soundtrack
Kingdom Hearts 3D, again.... the Fantasia World sound effects were awesomely made.

Graphics
iunno, Halo I suppose.

New gameplay mechanic
The Dream Drops in KH3D, they were a fun and welcome change from the Gummy Ship.

Boss battle
....once again, Kingodm Hearts 3D (I didn't buy too many games this year -.-)
Engine physics
Train Simulator 2013.... biatch

Ending
Kingdom Hearts...

New character

Protagonist
Riku in Kingdom Hearts, he really developed himself as his own character in this one, instead of just being a cliche anti-hero like he was in certain previous titles.

Antagonist
Xehanort, Kingdom Hearts. The dude is badass.

Supporting character
Mickey, if nothing else because he froze time

Cinematic(Pre-rendered/In-game)
Kingdom Hearts memory sequence cutscenes, really well made.

Developer of the year
Square Enix

Best hidden gem/under the radar/overlooked game
The Binding of Issac, although it may have come out in 2011.

RE: DYKG Video Game Awards *open*
Honestly, I can't even think of enough games to put in. They either came out last year or I haven't played it, so I can't judge it.
