In Ocarina of Time, the carpenters were named after each member of The Beatles.

In America, the carpenters' names are Ichiro, Jiro, Sabooro and Shiro.

In the German translation, however, they were named John, Paul, George, and Ringo, the names of each member of The Beatles. This was changed in Ocarina of Time 3DS.

In 1998, Ocarina of Time was released in America before Europe, so maybe it was them who decided to change it. Maybe it's because that like The Beatles, you wanted to see the carpenters get back together after they seperated.
