My Mom first started playing them and showed me it. If your mother introduces you to a game that involves dating simulation, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's unmanly. She would also play my files every now and then on "A Wonderful Life" on the Gamecube to make sure I was never trying to woo Muffy.
