I don't necessarily mean I have to play the games in chronological order, though it does help. I just have to play them from the first to last.
There's already one game series I'm breaking this little rule of mine with and that's Final Fantasy. You bet I ain't going to go back and play every single game in that series through.
Going in order might be a bit of a hassle with these haha. There's of course the order they were released. But then there's three different storyline timelines. I actually posted a video about it earlier today in it's own thread.
Yeah, I usually go with the time of release when the games don't have a set timeline. I saw the video too and I've seen both AVGN's Legend of Zelda timeline and another one that I can't remember right now.
In any case, LoZ has just too many games on platforms that I don't own to even bother starting. I'm not really interested in the gameplay either, though the lore is interesting. That's why I've watched two full LPs, propably gonna go for a third at some point.
