Koopa troopa's were inspired by creatures in Japanese mythology called, kappas. Just as there are koopas with divergent shell colors and ones who have teamed up with Mario to combat the forces of evil, there are also kappas of differing demeanor. There are some who dragged horses and livestock into rivers and feasted on their entrail, and some who sat in rudimentary toilets and had a fetish for fondling women’s buttcheeks while they attempted to poop.
