Voice chat will not be standard across all games or even the system itself. Even though the WiiPad has a built-in microphone, it can't be used for voice chat.

So far the only games listed to support in-game voice chat are Assassin's Creed 3, Mass Effect 3 and Black Ops 2. Nintendo has yet to announce voice chat support for any further games, never mind detailed plans of the Wii U's online suite.

You may not point it out, as it shows you've got selective reading. Not having standard voice chat (see above) is one of the reason's I don't see the Wii U having better online then the 360. I also said this:

I've played the Wii online and the DS online, and neither of them were terribly impressive. Nintendo, again, is unproven in this area. For you to sit back and say, "the WiiU will have the best online!" is hilarious, because there's no proof Nintendo knows what it's doing.

If you really think not speaking with other players who you're playing with in an online game isn't important, you either don't play multiplayer games online or are just blatantly ignoring Nintendo's stubbornness to get with the times and finally bring voice chat in. Play "Black Ops 2" online and let me know how fucking easy it is to write a message on the GamePad while everything's exploding around you, and all you wanted to do was tell your friend where the guy who just killed you is hiding.

No, I'm not spending ten bucks a month to talk with my friends. This is a clearly a sign of ignorance, as you no nothing about what you get from paying for Xbox Live.

- There's always constant sales on various games on demand and arcade games.
- Free apps like Crackle and IE.
- Companies bring DLC first and in some cases, only to Xbox Live.
- Companies will patch their games, thanks to the Xbox Live Gold membership covering the overhead cost of fixing games. For example, Capcom patched up a DLC costume issue with Street Fighter 4 on the 360 but not on the PS3 due to the cost being high and no one was willing to pay for it.
- Better security.....
- Exclusive games, be it Games on Demand or Arcade titles.
- Little to no lag.

See there's plenty of reasons the handful of change I pay per day isn't just for chatting it up with my friends, in fact it does a lot more. From bringing me sales on games to support the games I play and my account security (coughpsnhackcough), there's plenty of reasons to pay for the service.

At the end of the day it really doesn't matter if I pay for Xbox Live or not, we're talking about Nintendo here, and unless they can match the online play, apps, security, and specials that Xbox Live and PSN have, they certainly won't have the best online out of the bunch.
