It blew my mind as a kid to see Kanto again. And the remakes of the 2nd gen are absolutely perfect remake, implementing all the new features while still retaining the classic feel of Silver and Gold.
I agree about the second generation. Getting to go back to the 1st gen region was one of the best moments of my gaming childhood.
However, I was slightly dissapointed that Red didn't have the name I had given him in my Pokémon Blue
