RE: Naming Your Characters
Well, when it's for online gaming, I use Nicknclank.

But when I'm playing OTHER games, I use different versions of my name (Nicolas).

When I was playing Skyrim, I was a Khajit, so N'Kolai.

When I play Borderlands, I'm a Hunter, so Nikolai.

When I'm playing LoZ, I gotta go with Nick (Link, Nick, get it? No? FU.)

Lastly, when I play a game me and my brother BOTH play at the same time (for instance, a DS game like pokemon), we use Danico (Danick + Nicolas).

RE: Naming Your Characters
I usually only name my characters in Strategy RPGs that make you give them names. So... mostly Disgaea.

I usually name characters in the later games the same as I had them in the earlier ones, though I do add I, II, III etc. to some. Then there are characters that I name after some other game characters they remind me of, like I named the ninja Kakashi.

I think the only other game I have renamed my characters in is Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light.

RE: Naming Your Characters
Well, about 90% of the time they are named Christopher, but every now and then I name them something original, like my necromancer in Baldur's Gate 2, Athneir'Zull.

RE: Naming Your Characters
I normally leave the names to whatever the game default is. I remember naming the characters in Final Fantasy 6 after people I knew during my first playthrough, as I was having trouble keeping track of the characters at the start for some reason.

Also used to name Link after myself in Zelda games until it occurred to me to just use Link.
