haha! Some of the anime I watch are based off of visual novels. I've never tried one..but it's something I want to look into.

Well if you do decide to read one, I might suggest Clannad first one I read and it was very very good not to mention there was an English translation (despite some typos) and it was free. (Although I'm not sure you could get into the story as much as I could being the main character is a guy) Tongue

Not a big reader, though I become obsessed with like 1 or 2 books every year.

Biggest recommendation is "The House of Leaves" Craziest thing I have ever read. It is so abstract, scary, funny, and so many other things at once. Only book I've read more then twice. (Not counting graphic novels or manga.)

I used to be a huge reader, but not anymore for some reason. I want to get back into it so I just got a random pretty big length book today because the cover caught my eye.

I'm reading A Storm of Swords now. It's been more than a month since I started. Yeah, I'm a pretty slow reader. Shame on me.

Currently reading Bomber by Len Deighton. It's a superbly researched fictional account of a bombing raid in WW2, seen from both sides. The amount of detail is absolutely incredible, highly recommend it.

Favorite books : Ender's Game and The Giver. They are tied for 1st.
Followed closely by Ender's Shadow.
Honorable mention: The dragonlance series, Hatchet, The Messenger (sequel to the Giver). iRobot, and Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions.

I'm just gonna say it... I've never heard of a lot these fantasy books.

Have a read of Don Quixote, Catch 22, Cat's Cradle, Master and Margarita, Money... and... well ... many more.

Anyone want to have some arguments about books? Personally, I hate Dickens. EDIT - also, I think Frankenstein is an awful book.

I read a lot of books, but my favorite author is Isaac Asimov. His earth filled with robots makes me imagine about all the possibilities of the human race. Plus, I really liked his book "The End Of Eternity". After reading that, I got to know a little bit more about time travel!

Since I'm french canadian, I also read books from a french person called Patrick Senécal. His books starts off kinda normal at first and then turns COMPLETELY dark and grotesque (in one book, the protagonist is forced to torture a guy by putting his arm between the wheels of a bike, and then turns the wheel very fast Confused

)

But, I also read a bunch of mangas and comic books, but I don't have any preferences, although I really like the "Watchmen" and "Liar Game" ^_^

I once tried the read The Great Gatsby and it was very difficult to follow the book and understand what's going on.

It was the first time I actually have felt any difficulty reading anything by not having english as my native tongue..

Sometimes when a book is hard for me to understand, I use an audiobook...

the hardest book I had trouble reading was The Scarlet Letter....ugh
