That is unfair to say, just because you find that no game is perfect does not mean that everyone thinks the same way. One person who loves sports games could say the latest FIFA game was 10/10 while another person who has never seen soccer nor played any kind of a sports game before could be confused by the game and rate it a 6/10 or lower even. It is all opinionated which I think is the OP's intent on the thread.
Which brings us to what I said earlier that everyone missed.

My example is very obvious. Skyrim. It's flawed not just because of the glitchiness, but the combat isn't that great, and even though you do many epic quests it doesn't really change the world very much. Even during bits where you're meant to be storming cities with an army, the army seems to consist of about 30 people. Dragons end up as just irritating after a while.

It's still, for me, a ten out of ten.

Come on know, we're not 13 here.

Jak 2. Definitely had its fair share of problems and things it could have expanded more on, but I thought it was a nice solid game.

My basic point was that 10/10 games are possible, in that the good outweighs the bad.

But still... I'd like to hear what stops Tetris or Asteroids from being objectively perfect.

RE: 10/10 games that are flawed
Well, I've only given my personal 10/10 to about....3 or 4 games in my life. All of them were amazing games that, while still having flaws, were absolutely a sight to behold.

All 4, in order of when I played them in my lifetime.

Shadow of the Colossus.
Okami.
Persona 3 and 4. I'm adding them together since 4 fixed the mechanics of 3, but 3 had a better story.
Killer 7.

All of them had flaws, but I can look passed them because of how fun I found them all. Plus, the stories helped me forgive the flaws.

I think he's getting at how awful skyrim is. It was a totally dumbed down piece of garbage. It still followed the same "runforwardslashbackpedalrepeat" system Oblivion had. The lack of stats was basically for those idiots that wanted a new first person view game with some RPG elements. So the simple minded CoD fans can go "OH HAY ITS JUST LIKE COD! I don't have to use any knowledge of stats what so ever!" It was hardly entertaining and the side quests... OH GOD THEY WERE SO BAD!! The guilds were HORRID! The stories were to short and had little to expand on. They were just basically fanfare.
I personally would give that game a 5/10

...Sorry... I rip that game apart every time I hear someone say it's a good game. I was utterly dissapointed with it. I was really stoked for it, I even gave it the benefit of the doubt when I heard it was dropping the the complexity of Oblivion. I just fucking hate that game.

Now how about I stop being a prick and contribute to the thread in the way I should?
games I would give a 10/10... the Ratchet and Clank series. Excluding Deadlocked, size matters and secret agent clank. Demons Souls (I've brought this game up so much on the forum...),MAG, Valkyria Chronicles, 3D dot game heroes, Devil May Cry 3, Metal Gear Solid 3, Brutal Legend and White Knight Chronicles 1 and 2.

You hate Skyrim but give it 5/10? Wouldn't out-and-out hatred rate a much lower score? Personally I thought it was incredible, and don't really see why it's juvenile, but horses for courses I guess.

Another one for my personal list - Geometry Wars: Galaxies.

I'm not that harsh. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean I'm going to say "0/10 don't buy utter piece of crap"
The new ways to use magic were nice instead of the constant fire/ice/electric fire ball/explosion. But there were so many things missing that made Oblivion such a fantastic game. One thing, though I won't use this as a reason to dislike a game, is the lack of weird glitches in skyrim. I loved finding those weird model glitches like putting a corpse in a door frame and closing the door. The enchanting system was interesting, but it was missing so much! We just got some basic stuff were as Oblivion, morrowind, etc had this crazy in depth enchanting system that could make you like, super fast or just super high if done right.

I found it to be a total disappointment, but I have to give credit were credit is due. Though I can only think of a few things I liked about it. Which is why it gets a 5/10 from me.

Also Geometry Wars galaxies was such a fun time waster. I regret trading it into EB games since I have a PS3. So no original xbox 360 copy for me!

Well we should probably not argue about Skyrim anymore, it's getting a bit off topic. Feel free to PM me about it though, I don't mind an argument, and I don't hold it against you.

For time wasting games that I REALLY have trouble with rating myself... any golf game.

Well, there is no such thing as a perfect game...

I'd have to say, Assassin's Creed series, as much as I love those games, the combat is WAY too easy, and the animations are really badly done...

I enjoyed Assassin's Creed 2 alot. Probably a 10/10 in that series. It was to me alot better than Brotherhood and Revelation.

Call of Duty Black Ops

I adore this game, Ive always loved playing it with my friends, the zombies mode, the campaign, the multiplayer, even though the graphics are a tad shitty and the maps online are quite straigt forward.

Also, no one like it on Launch when your own screen shakes whent he rocket lauches.
