Instead of saying the game(s) are bad, it is just better to say that the game(s) are just not for you.

RE: Resident Evil
I was 8 when i tried to play the first one alone..in the dark - that genuinely scared me more than anything else ever - made my dad throw it away while i watched.

used to watch my friend play 2 but was too terrified to try.

played 4, awesome! skipped 5 plus CV, Zero...but might play 6 - is it back to zombies?

RE: Resident Evil
Leon's part has zombies
Chris's part has mutant soldiers
Jake's part has ????
and the mystery part I am unsure of.

I like this. I always kind of hated it whenever people would state opinions like facts. Very annoying to me.

Yeah and I am a hypocrite because I did not (and still do not) like Resident Evil 5 because it has changed so much from the original games but I do not care about the 3rd person camera. I just want my horror back in my favorite franchise.

You can still go play those old games, they're still there and there is Dead Space.
RE had to progress and they made the story the main part of the game. Honestly, the scare tactic of the old game is laughable and lets be honest, what ACTUALLY scared you in those RE games? Usually the response I get is something completely off, because they really weren't that scary but so many insist that they were. Back when you were 8 sure, shittin' huggies on a daily basis but when you're 21....that dog jumping through the window doesn't work anymore.

RE: Resident Evil
^ See I went back and played the Gamecube ports of the older Resi games a little while ago and I personally was more feared of them now than when I first played them aged around 10-11 which was over 15 years ago, so a bloody long time thinking about it. The Horror/Whatever genre has changed a lot since then and I suppose different people will react differently to stuff that's about now and to what was around back in the day. Saying that, I still haven't completed Dead Space yet and the Silent Hill series still shits me up now in the same way it did years ago.

True true. Now I don't find them scary and I never really have. When i was younger yeah. But I also played Silent Hill 1 and that was honestly terrifying. I still think Silent Hill 1 can stand the test of time as opposed to RE1, 2 and 3.

The thing about the Resident Evil games is that you're a well equipped agent of S.T.A.R.S or, have had S.T.A.R.S training and can handle themselves. Compared to Silent Hill 1, you're a dad on the search for his missing daughter with a straight forward plot and forces you into going down that dark school corridor. The radio kicks in and "now where do I look"? A true masterpiece.

Dead Space is definitley your game. It's Resident Evil now but with a stronger narrative, incredible graphics and top notch controls. The first games brings you into the Universe and introduces the characters well (Apart from Issac). Dead Space 2 throws you back into that game with Issac now having a personality (a voice) but also pushes a new story forward. Dead Space is easily one of the best game series I've played this gen.

@Your spoiler,
I think you ruined the awesomeoness of the Regenerators and Iron Maidens for me now! XD Now when I play it, I'll keep thinking of a creepy person breathing down the phone.

I think I must've played Silent Hill when it first came out for about 20 minutes then well I just couldn't handle it. I still can't now. I watched a "Lets Play" on youtube an' even that shit me up something chronic. O_o While the Resi series is pretty straightforward in a sense; Silent Hill really did kick the psyche up it's arse. Still prefer Resi though I've grown up with that series.

And I do agree that Dead Space is a frighteningly (no pun intended) good game. It reminds me a lot of The Thing which is one of my fave movies which is what drew me in to it. Really must get round to completing it.

And sorrrryyyyyy! XD But I keep expecting the buggers to go "how big are yer tits" somewhere in amongst the heavy breathing. They did look quite scary to me though, wouldn't want to meet one of them in a dark alleyway like...

RE: Resident Evil
Oh boy, where do I begin! Resident Evil is my all time favorite series and I've played most of the entries in the series and own pretty much every single game except the Gamecube ones (don't have a GC). I do have Zer0 as a book though. I know the fanbase is kinda torn between the old and new fans but I'm one of those who actually like every single entry in the series. Well, except for Missions. That game is just horrible, nigh unplayable and just not fun at all. I did beat it, though.

For everyone interested, here's a list of what I have: (Click to View)

That is effin' awesome dude. I'm a huge fan of RE(as stated before) but that's an impressive collection I'd love to have (take the movies out though, WTF (apart from Regeneration and Damnation)).

Never played the mobile games though. Also, I bought a special RE4 demo disc on eBay. I don't think the seller knew who much they are worth but I got it cheap. Anything to do with RE4, gotta have. So:

Biohazard 4 Incubate (download)
Biohazard 4D-Executer (download)

What are these?

RE: Resident Evil
Yeah, I don't really approve of the live action movies either. I happen to buy my movies from a place that offers a free movie for every 4 normal priced ones so I get the RE live actions that way, just to add to my collection Tongue I also seem to have missed two things on that list, Operation Raccoon City (PS3) and Chronicles HD Collection (PSN).

You got that RE4 demo? Oh man, that's sweet! I actually got the RE3 demo disc for free after someone was mistakingly selling it as the full game and upon realizing it was just a demo he offered it to me free of charge.

Biohazard 4D-Executer is actually the first RE film ever created. It's only half an hour long but it's in CG, takes place during the outbreak in Raccoon and features a team of U.B.C.S. soldiers. Really worth the watch, I guess you can see it subtitled on YT.

Biohazard 4 Incubate is a DVD that has the story of RE4 in a movie form. It's made by compiling the cutscenes and some of the gameplay into a full length movie.

Both of them are Japan only, only the latter actually being released on DVD, so I just downloaded both online. Don't remember from where anymore.

That's pretty cool! Will have to find those online. I've gotten rusty at RE4 since I've been playing RE6 non-stop.

RE: Resident Evil
As always I enjoy a good Resident Evil game get ported, I just hope that this game is not just a fast and quick port like Dark Souls was. Also I could never get my eyes to adjust to the small 3DS screen so bringing it to consoles is awesome and I will pay full price for it.
