RE: Pokemon Did You Knows?
In the Red/Green/Yellow releases for Japan if the player evolves their starter Pokemon without getting the Pokedex from Oak he will not give it to you or accept the parcel. As a result the player will have to restart their game since you won't be able to progress any further.

Although it's extremely unlikely to happen, in the first gen games released anywhere it's possible to get stuck. You know how you have to buy a drink from the vending machine to give to the guard to let you pass? Well, what if you don't have enough money, have battled all the trainers, are out of Pokeballs in Blue and haven't caught a Meowth for Pay Day, or are unable to trade for one? You can't get through!

Once again, extremely unlikely to happen, but that's why you can talk to the old lady and get tea for free in FireRed and LeafGreen.

RE: Pokemon Did You Knows?
i wonder wich reason Oak has to not give you the pokedex, when your starter evolved Huh
Isnt that the whole point, when oak gave it to you? Battle and get stronger?
Guess oak dont want you to be the very best... atleast at the beginning of the game Big Grin

I think it was just a programming oversight where Oak thinks that since you have two Pokemon he's already given you the Pokedex and that's why he goes straight into rating it instead of accepting the parcel. I guess the folks who worked on the game never expected someone to level up their starter Pokemon that high before getting it.

Oh, thats why numbers appear in that Text, i thought the "deedeed" sound at the end was like.. You failed in getting the very best and you dont deserve a pokedex.

I mean who knows, its not like anyone here could read that text Cool

Dont you love, when your pokemon attacks and the damage is way stronger then the last time it used this attack?
Thats right, its called critical hit.

Did you know, that under normal conditions, in gen 2 onwards, the chance of a critical hit is 6.25%?

Did you know, that when you max out the possible play time in Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald, the game doesnt let the player go to Mirage island ever again.

Did you know, that hurt by confusing is actually an attack?
The pokemon who got hurt by confusion attacks itself with a 40 attack power, typeless physical attack.

I think it just meant that he was chastising you for only having two Pokemon and telling you to go catch more.

When its like 20 lv above, ok Big Grin

Guy on here is obnoxious, but there's a number of baton pass strategies like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlkTctsmKkE

The Wobuffet stuff just doesn't matter as much now because there's a qide variety of mixed attackers, especially in Ubers, with stuff like Psychostrike.

Pats on the back to that dude. Magikarp teams are hard to build. Those Ubers beaten by a Magikarp haha DAYUM!

Remember when Gary used to call Professor Oak "Gramps"?
Get rid of the "s" in it and you get this:

Galactic
Rocket
Aqua
Magma
Plasma

Smeargle with
Rain Dance/Belly Drum/Spore/Baton Pass
Holding a Salac Berru (or whatever the berry is that raises speed.)

And Magikarp with Focus Sash/Flail/Tackle/Bounce

Also works pretty well.

I was a fan of Smeargle (and Ninjask sometimes)

Can magikarp learn more moves then splash and tackle after gen 3?
I never really played a gen after the 3th generation. Just played like normal, getting badges and beating the elite 4 and thats it.
black/white.. i dont know nothing about them hehe Tongue

But wouldnt it even more badass, when magikarp learns the moves and then evolve into gyrados? some more kick ass action? lol Rolleyes

I don't think your post is related to the topic at all... but...
The only move that was added in Magikarp's learnset was flail. It's somehow stronger than tackle, but you still need to evolve it into Gyarados to make a fortune out of it.
And, I'm not sure but when I browsed bulbapedia it said Magikarp could learn bounce in Black and White 2, not sure though.

RE: Pokemon Did You Knows?
Magikarp can learn Bounce as (wait for it) an egg move.

Or at least he could in Gen IV.

I also believe he's been able to do Flail since Gen 1, but I've never bothered to check.

The Pokemon regions are based on actual Japanese regions.

No he couldn't do flail in gen I, I already checked.

Really? Guess there was only one thing he did then. Makes sense.
