RE: The life-in-general help me thread
I have a lot of wisdom to share. During my life I've been thrown away by my parents, moved around a lot, having to deal with a lot of people and physical/mental illness.

Wow, that was a depressing thing to write. But if anyone feel like they need something from me, don't be afraid to ask. I will at least have some input to give.

RE: The life-in-general help me thread
I've lived in several countries (in case you need travel tips), have a degree in psychology & neurology (for any general tips) and have written my thesis on the visual canals from the eye to the brain (for... eyesight problems ?)
I also speak five languages (for language tips) and am a pretty damn fine chef (for cooking tips) Big Grin

Travel Tips! Good.

I'm travelling out of country for the first time next summer. (I am going to Spain). Got any tips to settle my nerves?

If you have nerves about flying, I recommend a serotonin-inducing solution (serotonin calms you down) and something to help you sleep.

As for going there, and I say this assuming you're flying in from North America, make sure that when you get to Spain, you expose yourself to daylight as much as possible. Also make sure you don't sleep on your first day there because if you succumb to jetlag, you'll feel flat for a few days and you'll miss some of your holiday !

The Spanish are great people so try and speak their language at least to say hi or to ask for something. Showing them that you're putting some effort to speak to them in their own language will make them much more open than if you shout in English Big Grin

Also sunscreen - I've just been to the South of France for a few days and it was already 34 with no clouds in the sky. So sunscreen and try to keep to the shade between 12h00 and 16h00 otherwise you'll be red and you'll feel sore for the rest of your holiday. In the first few days, put on more sunscreen than you would need, even if you feel you don't need it (especially if you're not used to being exposed to the sun).

Oh, and eat paella, lots of paella. If this is the first time you leave your country, get ready for the time of your life - Spain really is a great place to visit and you'll feel relaxed and at home straight away Smile

Hope I've covered some important points Cool

I don't know what to do with my life anymore...I feel like I've wasted so much of my life and just no longer know. Sad

Live it to the fullest. Do stuff you always wanted to do, take risks, or just do whatever you want. Honestly, I felt the same way at a point, but feeling that way isn't healthy for anyone. Just find something you can hold on to and work toward it.

RE: The life-in-general help me thread
Okay guys, I feel like a horrible person...

Last year I lost one of my best friends. We were in arguments for the entire summer until one day, I go to play my heartgold game...a game that I had pokemon stored in from all the way when I had my Ruby game from 10 years ago....and MY FILE WAS GONE. Instead, there was a file with her name on it.

Under this impression, I thought she might have switched cartridges either on accident or out of spite or something. So that night I called her up crying asking if she would look for it and we started fighting more and eventually it triggered our friendship ending. It was devastating for me. I lost my friend and hardwork.

Well...here I am a year later and as I am packing boxes from my closet...what do I find in the midst of my rubble? My heartgold game. I couldn't believe it..I thought it was gone for good. I thought she stole it and never found or gave it back. I lost a friendship that was triggered over a game.

We are now on speaking terms...but I'm scared to tell her or apologize? Should I? Or would it just seem horrible? I don't know. I don't know.

Um...that seems like an overly petty reason to lose a friend over but I'll let that go assuming you were like 7 or something, but yes you should apologize if I were you I would have apologized 10 years ago (or at least tried to patch things up without mentioning it ever again).

nooo i had pokemon on my game since i was 7 so it was pretty much my childhood in a little cartridge.
this happened last year.

and yes I know it was a petty reason..but both of us were going through a lot at that time. She was going through her step dad's divorce and I watched my grandma die in front of me. Times were bad so even the smallest things heightened our tensions.

I should apologize, i guess it's just really really hard.

I see, also my bad on the age comment because I saw 10 years and that got ingrained on my brain that the argument was then even though I had just read it was 1 year ago...maybe my lack of sleep is finally catching up to me.
