RE: Project DYKG (Official Thread).
I prefer skype over MSN just for the reason that if I go in MSN I always get spam requests like crazy and that annoys me a lot. Add me. It's joao.lucas.sohakmet

Also, I really liked the story. we could implement into it something like the burglar is actually the internet core that became sentinent and is now is rampage to steal everyone's files and with those get everything together and absorve all the knowledge that can be found in those files so then, teh internet itself, can create a method of controlling everyone who uses the computer to become it's slave trying to achieve, further, the dominance of the planet.

It all starts with your files being stolen and you are the only one who can get in and out the computer and navigate through the sites physically, the internet itself then notices that you're following it and awares you of the dangers that exist in the place so it can convince you to go back and let everything happen. Going into the game you start to find all the evil plans that the internet is actually planning of in the form of file data (like bytes scatered around a level) and your objective is (if you want to achieve completion of the game) is to get all these bits of info so you can find out what the internet really is and have an alternate boss fight for the good ending.

Along the way we can put sites in the game that are very popular, like twitter, facebook, etc. (of course, not using the same names) so we can make fun of those and add the humor and cleverness to the game, not to mention that it would be the perfect game to put cameo appearences of all sorts of stuff related to gaming or anything else, it would be genius.

We could put different characters in the most important levels to add to the life of the game and have something that might aid you along the way.

I can think of more later, but that's basically what I had to say for now about the story Nick planned.

My skype name is iNickMidget

You are the creator of a revolutionary program that could solve the world’s problems. One day, as you are writing the final line of code to finish the ultimate program, an unknown competitor hacks your computer and traps you inside along with a virus that is slowly destroying the computer’s integrity. You must chase the virus as it hops from program to program, leaving behind a wake of destruction. As you progress, things start to fall apart. The programs deteriorate as you move through them. The bosses at the end of each Program will drop chunks of code to your revolutionary program. After you complete each program, you will enter a "space" shooter only you will be flying through the coding of the computer past lines of green code and a black background, Matrix esque if you will. The final boss will be the virus itself and you’ll be a top the motherboard of your computer as it tries to implant it’s self into it.

The main gameplay would be action platforming, and each program would have it's own unique art style.

Haha, this idea seems cool.

Still, you should change the story to be something a bit more....realistic per se, since "yh he buld big machine go into pc lol" is a bit odd, it should be something like him touching the screen and it starts to bind around him and sucks him in, or something.

I'd like to help with this, but I doubt I'd be able to do anything other than being an "idea guy" who aren't very useful, but I guess I could just give my opinion on things if I see them.

Also I understand if it's been changed, I am a bit late to this, since I don't visit this board much.

Also we obviously need a dubstep mode, in which all the music is turned into dubstep remixes.

As far as music goes, how are we doing it. I see a lot of you are leaning more towards the electronic/techno side. Are we doing different styles for each stage, or are we going to go with 1 style?

I think that we're aiming for different styles, yes.

I had my doubts about Mega-Man, but he just saved me from one Dr. Wily's creations. Then he did that TOTALLY REAL THING WHERE HE DETERIORATES INTO PARTICLES AND FLIES ACROSS THE SKY.

Well, as a musician, I would rather build the music around the game/artwork. I rather come up with something on what I see, rather than make you have to come up with something based on what you hear.

It's been done before.

It starts with a dialogue that doesn't go any faster just so it follows the build up of the music, at around 1:10 he starts transforming and then at around 1:30 the dialogue ends, the boss who is now in it's true form (something that looks like pure evil) start to fly a few feet from the ground and at 1:35 the battle really begins.

It would be epic

You can base music on the game or game on the music, both are possible

Guys, we REALLY need to get programmers involved, so if you know of any, contact them. Otherwise, we've gotta get word out for volunteer help and that would be almost impossible.
