I've noticed alot of help threads in this section, and I thought it would be helpful to have a thread for general questions and answers about anything related to Pokemon.

Edit: There can be some lengthly explanations in this threads, so if you're worried that your post isn't getting answered, be patient and you'll eventually get an answer.

So I've been looking around the internet for any good 5th generation RNG reporters. The problem is, all the ones I find can't be downloaded properly. I have Windows 7, so does anybody know where I could find any for my computer, or am I out of luck?

Because I have a guide for those using the latest RNG reporter, windows 7 and are on a 3DS.
If not I can guide you through RNG abuse pretty easily.

I understand how to do both.

What do you need help with? Any Pokemon in particular you're looking to RNG abuse or wanting to test? If you have any stationary Pokemon available, I can guide you through those.

Here are just some of my RNG abuse examples and what you could be attaining. (See the stats)
100% perfect Pokemon with maximum stats at 100(see Stats and Moveset), perfect(ish) Movesets and fully EV trained:
Tyrannitar
Cobalion
Latios
All 100% perfect for competitive battling or for a collection.

I've RNG abused Keldeo and now I need to train it finishing EVing it.

Do you have any stationary Pokemon(legendaries standing still in a spot)
Cresselia, Cobalion, Terrakion etc?

I think all I have left is Azelf, Mesprit, Heatran, and the 3 Golems. The only ones I'd actually use would be Azelf and Heatran.

What game are you on? I also need to RNG Heatran so I'll guide you while obtaining my own.

But since this is a forum I can explain it more in detail here
Preparation 1)
OK well, I think for the sake of this walkthrough it's best if you:
Use that RNG Reporter on a Windows machine
Use your 3DS
Use Black 2 and we'll both go for Heatran(or any other Stationary legendary if you want).

Preparation 2) According to Smogon the best Nature we need to go for is Modest.
So you'll need a Pokemon with the ability Synchronise. You can signed up to Pokecheck here to get free Pokemon and you will be using this (very handy) tool later on, so signing up now is almost a must. If you don't care about nature then ignore but for your first RNG abuse it's optional. (I would recommend you get a Synchronise Modest Pokemon).
What Synchronise does is, change the nature of a wild Pokemon. So if you want an Adamant Scizor, you bring an Adamant Alakazam and the chance of finding the right nature increase. (50%)

You'll also need a Pokemon with the ability sweet scent

Modest Espeon
Sweet Scent Smeargle

Starting:
1) Espeon first in party.
Smeargle wherever in your party
Only every have 5 Pokemon maximum in your party (Espeon, Smeargle and any other 3 Pokemon, it doesn't have to be 5 but always make sure there's room)

2). Go to any place with no moving NPCs.
Victory road is a good place (See my video)

3) Perform a hard reset.
That's saving your game and then turning it off by the power.

4) In RNG reporter click on:

and then enter a date and time. Any will do

I might sound like a pain in the ass right here, but do you know where I could find a guide for egg breeding? Possibly with shininess? I feel like I'd do most of the RNGing through breeding.

Update: I tried searching for Hidden Power spreads for Heatran, and none showed up. I tried doing the Timer0 count as 1683 and 1685 because that's all I got, but it eventually just crashed on me looking for a flawless spread with no Attack specifications. I might as well try again in the morning...

Send me a print screen of your RNG Reporter after you've put in what you want but before you press generate and I'll see what the problem is.

Saves me from making a written guide. I suggest reading the comments too since there may be a few answers for some future questions in there.

As for Egg breeding, you can't in B/W2.
Game freak effed up with the programming of the game causing eggs to be always have the same outcome.

Same everstone decision, same nature, same dreamworld ability decision, same volbeat/illumise decision, etc. PID and IVs are the only thing not set. The result will always be the same depending on what was generated when the gamesave was first created.

So if you ever want to do RNG breeding, you'll have to do it in any game BUT B/W 2 due Game Freaks programming error.

When searching for IVs you need to set number limits.


HP None 31 etc
You need:
HP == 31

This narrows down what you want to find. (click on the None box)
HP == 31 means:
Find a Pokemon with EXACTLY 31 IVs in HP
HP <= 31 means:
Find a Pokemon has less than or equal to 31 IVs in HP
HP >= 31 means;
Find a Pokemon that has greater than or equal to 31 IVs in HP(though at 31 you're already at the limit)

If you look at the my 2 images. The first shows me having EXACTLY 31 IVs in every stat but Attack.
My second image shows the results of having EXACTLY 31 in every stat but Attack and anything less than or equal to 31 (1 - 31) in HP and thus it gives me more results.

Which makes me think, this must have taken you frikkin' AGES to search through. Like maybe 2 or more hours when it should be around 2 minutes. No wonder your PC crashed.
Also, you need to change your nature to Modest and click on Synchronise Frames Only as I can guide you through that bit.

Finally found it, only took me two encounters (even though I screwed up badly beforehand )

So now I have a Modest Heatran with 31/0/31/31/31/31 IVs (it has 0 attack IVs, go figure) I appreciate the help, now it's a lot easier! Ima go try to capture that Azelf after I train Heatran.

Alright, finally finished training it. Investing the EVs wasn't hard, but it was that training at Black Tower that took the longest. Anyways, here's how Heather the Heatran turned out:

Level 100, Modest, Air Balloon
IVs: 31/0/31/31/31/31
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
Moveset: Magma Storm, Flash Cannon, Earth Power, Flamethrower

I plan on changing its moveset to replace Flash Cannon with Solarbeam, because I plan on using it on a Sun team. I'm also on the fence about replacing Flamethrower with something like Dragon Pulse or Substitute. I might lower its speed a little and give it some HP EVs. How did yours turn out?

P.S. I just registered my save file on Pokecheck. Is there any real danger to doing so?
