Some people like it. Personally for me, I don't care for it. It kinda detracts from what games are supposed to do, in my opinion, which is be fun. The VGAs try to make the whole gaming community seem like one big competition, which for some companies, it is, but most companies just make games for their fans, not the entire market. Again, that's just my personal take on the VGAs.

The VGA's were terrible last year, predictable results and the "LOL US GAMERZZZZ" shit was getting old.

I have no high hopes for this.

At least the Bafta's do this right.

But they still have a dumbarse audience. Voting for Skyrim because apparently it's original and cool. I find VGAs (and BAFTAs) don't even bother with the categories. No MMOs, No fighting games, No Handheld, NO JRPGs, No Puzzle, racing games are shoved into sport and they also have crappy polls where best new game is Skyrim but not Alice: Madness or Catherine. VGAs is just....ughhh it's horrible to/and for the gaming industry.
Both awards are bland with easy predictions:
Batman:
CoD:
FIFA
ACIII
Halo 4
Forza
Hitman
Far Cry 3
Need for Speed

Then you might get the odd few games like Dishonoured, Okami HD, Ninja Gaiden 3, Borderlands 2, Darkness 2. Don't expect to be seeing Professor Layton, Warp, FEZ, Tekken Tag 2 or Asuras Wrath

I don't care for the VGA's at all. The only reason why I watch them now is for the game reveals. That's really it.

I could never be on a panel of judges... I loved all the games I played in that list and can't bring myself to put one above the rest

The only game I haven't played out of that list was Uncharted 3. But that's because I don't have a PS3.

But the other 4 games were absolutely fantastic and I enjoyed them very very much.

They don't show it in the U.K (you need to stream it from Gametrailers or related websites), but I do enjoy the game reveals as well. Pointless, but I can't complain when companies announce new information on upcoming games.

Played and completed 'em all but Skyrim and Batman: Arkham City. Played the other two but not had time to sit down and play it fully myself. What Seriously Though said though, it's hard to say what is the best because they're all good.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, and Portal 2 are the only games that I have finished, but I did pick up Skyrim today. A own Uncharted 3, but want to finish the first and second before I play the third.
