As you may know from some my last thread(http://forums.didyouknowgaming.com/showt...hp?tid=764 for whoever wants to see it) I am getting a laptop that I will be using for gaming. So far I know I'll be getting COD4(For dem mods, especially that star wars one, galactic warfare or something?), Battlefield 3, and some other MP shooters. I like those multiplayer games, but I can get down with a single player game if it has good story. So while I only know a couple I'm getting for sure, I'd like to know more! Once I get said laptop I would like to convert myself to a PC gamer(I am going to start console wars aren't I) but I need some games Big Grin So anything that you guys like to play, recommend it here. Thanks!

(Oh, yeah, I know you like my colored text. Big Grin)
Galactic Warfare is godlike! Can't go wrong with Team Fortress 2. It's free (with no additional charge rubbish)

Tribes Ascend is free and pretty good, but one of those "micro-transactions games".

World of Warcraft is a great MMORPG and it's free to play (up to Level 20). Though I'd also say that if you haven't played an MMORPG before, wait till Tera Online comes out.

Minecraft and Audiosurf are good for killing time

A good single player I highly recommend is Witcher 2. Story is mature with well developed characters and a decent plot. Much better than Skyrim (not that Skyrim is bad).

If you want a decent fighting game get Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. Amazing fighting game (though AE is a tad disappointing)

2 good puzzle games I'd recommend are Portal(and Portal 2) and Quantum Conundrum(newly released)

1. Great. The mod looks amazing. I actually do have TF2, but never got around to getting into srs bsns with it because it randomly crashes on me on my current laptop >.<

1. Yeah, Tribes sounds really fun, but is it one of those Free to Play, Pay to Win games? D:

2. Mhm, never played an MMORPG before. When is this Tera Online coming out?

3. Yeah, I play Minecraft a lot actually xP Audiosurf seems fun. I might get it.

4. Witcher 2.. I can play stuff that's M rated but I think if my parents caught me playing that things will not go well :/ I feel bad saying that but it's true >_<

5. Fighting games on a pc? psh no. unless if you can use controllers, in that case, I may have a small case of serious retarded-ness for not knowing

6. Portal is amazing! I played both on consoles. And Quantum Conundrum is a game I REALLY want so I will definitely be getting that Big Grin

Thanks for the game ideas. I'll keep these in mind.

Witcher 2 is an 18 game sure, but it's Mature it terms of storyline. If you want a game that's got a much more serious tone to that what's currently out then go for that. Dude you're not 5, you parents have to let get into these things.

No solid release date for Tera Online yet.

I'd also recommend Painkiller (amazing FPS).
Mass Effect series (Should keep you going for a long but, BUT FUCK ORIGIN).
Empire: Total War is brilliant!
S.T.A.L.K.E.R ....it has dated mechanics..... but playable

...Tera Online has been out for a month or so now in the States.

So then does it show anything bad? Perhaps I can hide the game somewhere or something evil like that >_< I'd like to play it though I heard some good things about it Big Grin

Painkiller? never heard of it, is it multiplayer, singleplayer, both or what dafuq is it

Is origin bad? I want it so I can play BF3 but is it worth it? D:

Hmm never heard of Empire Total War either. I'll go look it up

STALKER, I heard of this game so much but never seen what it actually is. Need to look this up too.

Thanks :U

Painkiller is single player but I am not 100% on that, and it is on Steam if you can access that.

I do not use Origin but that is entirely your choice one what you want to use, look up both pros and cons of using Origins compared to a program like Steam.

Empire Total War is a strategy game that I know jack about so you should watch reviews on Youtube or whatever you normally do to form an idea on if it is a good idea to buy or not.

STALKER...I have not played enough to really give you a good concept about it. In the first game you are a STALKER who was found alive in a dead body truck and so you are off to do missions and fight mutated monster and asshole soldier while avoiding these rift anomalies that will tear you apart if you stand in them long enough. The game is fun once you are used to the controls but again you should look to Youtube for people who have made reviews of the game series to get a better idea of what it is about and how the game plays.
TF2, Fallout 3 (better than New Vegas In my opinion), Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, Half Life, etc.
You could also get a few emulators and ROM it up, not that I would ever endorse potentially illegal activities on the DYKG forums *cough*
I do not think Fallout 3 would be good on a laptop. I tried the same thing on a laptop I had only gotten a few months prior to getting Fallout 3 and it was so darn laggy and unplayable and I had to settle with the PS3 version a few years later.
Any Elder Scrolls game is infinitely superior on PC. Not sure how well a laptop will accommodate any past Morrowind, though.
BubblebeeCody already mentioned almost any game I'd recommend, so there isn't much left to say. But I see you're a big FPS fan, so I say you should play through all Half-Life series, Left 4 Dead 2 (there isn't much point in playing the first L4D since L4D2 has almost all campaigns from the first game).

Civilization V is a great turn-based strategy game. It easily gets you sticked to it for hours. It makes 4 hours go away like dust in the wind.

And if you're facing your parents and really getting The Witcher II, I recommend you play The Witcher first. It's not necessary, but it sure will help understand the whole thing. That's what I'm doing (it's been some months since I last played The Witcher though. And I'm a little confused about what's going on, doing so many quests at the same time).

If you're feeling like getting cult, play Psychonauts. It's a bit old, a simple platformer, but it's a great game, filled with personality.
Good games on pc ? dont be so silly :o every1 knows all the good games are on gameboy.

use pc for this awesome forum :3
