But I see you're a big FPS fan, so I say you should play through all Half-Life series, Left 4 Dead 2 (there isn't much point in playing the first L4D since L4D2 has almost all campaigns from the first game).

Civilization V is a great turn-based strategy game. It easily gets you sticked to it for hours. It makes 4 hours go away like dust in the wind.

And if you're facing your parents and really getting The Witcher II, I recommend you play The Witcher first. It's not necessary, but it sure will help understand the whole thing. That's what I'm doing (it's been some months since I last played The Witcher though. And I'm a little confused about what's going on, doing so many quests at the same time).

If you're feeling like getting cult, play Psychonauts. It's a bit old, a simple platformer, but it's a great game, filled with personality.

I don't think the laptop is gonna be able to run L4D2 D: I posted a link here to a thread where I have all the parts, it's in the original post of this thread. Perhaps I can run it on low settings. About Half Life. I have played a little of HL2 on Xbox through The Orange Box, but that's it, but I have to say it's really good! I'd love to beat it one day. But the thing is, Half Life 1. I have it actually, it's an old game so I figured it'd run well on the current laptop I have right now. But the game and environments, mostly environments, are just really dark and depressing in my opinion :/ I can't really get into it. Is it necessary to the story? Should I play it or just skip it? >_<

I played through Half-Life 2 and the episodes and didn't have much trouble getting the story, but the first game and its expansions are important if you want to go deep in the story. There are many elements (like the Seven Hour War) I don't understand very well because I didn't play Half-Life 1. I only realised how bad I knew the story overrall when I started hearing about Episode Three. Now I bought Half-Life 1 Anthology on Steam so everything should be clearer. I'm sure you'd enjoy Half-Life 2 and the Episodes a whole lot more if you played Half-Life 1, Blue Shift and Opposing Force, even if it only means a little subtle joke now and then. But it's not a big deal if you go straight to Half-Life 2. "Hey Freeman! About that beer I owed ya!"

Btw, if you think Half-Life is scary, don't go to Ravenholm.
For short and sweet I would like to recommend the games like Pocket tanks, Pool them up, Just shoot it etc and for the bigger ones I would like to recommend FEAR which is ultimate, FIFA, NFS, Final fantasy and CoD. I hope you will lik them.
I love to play online Car Racing games, Action games and Super Mario.

Watch CSI Miami Episodes Online , Watch CSI NY Episodes Online
Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and the Frozen Throne expansion are god tier games
Black and White 2, Team Fortess 2,Star Wars The Old Republic, League of Legends and Sims 3. All I own. All I got for free or cheap. (Except for Sims)
Some games that would be good Half Life Games Amnesia the dark descent Portal 1 and 2 resident evil games Fallout or TES games Hitman games also and that's all folks.........Smile
Heroes of might and magic 5: tribes of the east. with a such pc you should be able to run at very high quality, and at that point its addicting.
