Since first appearing in Nintendo's Pro Wrestling for the NES do to lack of proper translation, the phrase "a winner is you!" has appeared in multiple games including Pokemon Red and Blue, Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story and Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales, almost as an inside joke amongst gamers and developers. It has even developed into an online meme.

Fairly easy one if I'm honest but it works. I've been enjoying the well hidden eggs personally.

You're right, this is commonly known. Which is why I found it hard to believe it has yet to be covered.

I've never heard that "A winner is you" made it into other games.
