Do you ever use cheats? When and why?
I only use cheats once I've beaten a game. That way they don't spoil the original experience, but I still get to run around slaughtering everything in god-mode.
I only use the fun kind of cheats. Bigger heads and stuff like that. Or in a GTA game something to get all weapons and blow shit up
Most of the time I try to beat the game first and then play around with cheats or gameshark hacks (like obtaining a bunch of shinies and underleveled legendaries in pokemon). Very rarely though I've had a game where I just couldnt beat it for the life of me, watch an LP of it on YT, then instead of fallowing along... use cheats. I did that with oddworld: abes exoddus, but I've had that game for many years and had it collecting dust until I moved down to florida. I just couldnt be bothered with puzzle solving during the time. XD
I did use cheats as a kid on Resident Evil 2 because I was not used to the N64's controls with RE2 and the only way for me to even make it to the police station was to get the infinite health code in.
I have beaten it afterwards without any cheats and I felt so happy.
When I was a kid I also played a lot of adventure games so it was not cheats I would look up but walkthroughs.
Never used. Just in pokemon games when I really ned a pokemon or item (like rare candys, when I was training my pokemons and forgot to save)
I really hate the kids who use it. When Pokemon Platinum was released, the kids in my school bought it and I first thought (yea, good, your dad bought it. You know what? I BOUGHT IT WITH MY OWN MONEY) and 2 days after that, they had already all the pokemons lvl 100 and all pokemons in Pokedex. The kids nowadays dont know what is to beat a game, just use cheats and that put me anger ._.
I always use them when playing a GTA game and feel like messing around. There is just so much silly shit to do with cheats in those games.
I wouldn't use cheats unless I honestly just get stuck and have to use them. Other than that, just for fun, i'll go on a rampage with cheats and turn like all of them on.
Anybody here who has played Contra has used a cheat at some point. Other than that, I used to mess around with Moon Physics in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 to see if I could crash the game, which I did several times.

I especially like using cheats on VALVe games with the source engine. YOU CAN DO SOME SHIT.
Only in games like GTA or Saints Row after playing the story.
I only use cheats when I finished the game OR I am very close to having 100% completion.
The only time I remembered using a cheat because I needed it was in a Yu-Gi-Oh game to get some cards in order to beat the boss. I STILL didn't beat him thought >_>
I only use cheats when I'm messin' around or it doesn't effect the gameplay at all (best example of that would be skin changes in old games if u had a certain name) I find if I'm being serious and I use a cheat that actually effects gameplay to make it easier it ruins the game for me because I then just get addicted to the cheats because I never got better at the game I just cheated and that's no fun.
