The Hero's Spirit in Twilight Princess is meant to be the Hero of time, or Link from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask according to Hyrule Historia. Meaning Twilight Princess contains the first dialogue beyond "yes" and "no" Link has ever had.
Well you could say, the first game in which Link talked was Zelda 2, when he picked up a mirror, he said something like "I've found a mirror under the table", even though it could be his thoughts.
Also, Wind Waker was the first game he said something, when you throw Medli, Link says something like "Come on" when he throws her.

This. There's also something else he says but I forgot what. I love his "come on" phrase heh.
Well,I think now its common knowledge,especially since the Hyrule Historia came out,that the Hero's Shade is Link,the defeated one in that timeline. That and when Link makes choices,he's essentially 'talking' to that person.
