What gets on your nerves about games or other gamers?

For example, on the Xbox, you can set your gaming zone. Mine is set to "Recreational," because I like to play games, but I don't play super-competively and I don't compete in tournaments...hence I am not "Pro", but I have two friends who both have theirs set to "Pro" but neither of them are really any good at playing games...one only plays single player games and doesn't finish them (what I call Gaming ADD.) When we would all play together (we all use to live in the same apartment) whether it be COD, Super Smash Bros, or any other multiplayer game, I'd wipe the floor with them.

I just think that maybe there should be a requirement for choosing "Pro" or "Underground"...like a minimum gamer score or a minimum number of tournaments you've competed in...

I know it's all trivial and doesn't really matter, but it just gets on my nerves.
Not really games/other gamers, but my girlfriend has a real bad habit of starting to talk to me right as a cutscene starts. Never when I'm randomly running around doing pointless things LOL

Backtracking.

I fucking hate backtracking.

THIS^

Who the fuck likes to motherfucking backtrack?!?
Collectibles being in every single game ever now.

I mean, in some games I totally get it. Like sandbox games or whatever? But collectables kind of seem shoe horned in to everything now, almost for no other reason than to fill out achievement lists and add to the total playing time with joyless (at least for me) searching of, like, pigeon eggs or something super irrelevant.
Beating a boss only for them to join your team with vastly lowered stats. It drives me insane.

There are some cases where backtracking is great. I don't find it annoying.

What I do find annoying is the players on Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. When I was busy on my world, some 11 year old girl came on my world, stole half of my diamonds and most of my iron ingots and left the world, completely destroying the items.

And this is why I set my games to invite only so stuff like that doesn't happen.

LOL WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE MARRIED Wink

every time my wife is like "ey dear i was thinking... (i pause the game) and she ends the line"

I resume the game and then "but what about this... (again paused the game)"

and again she is finished and i resume the game...
at the third time she sees my face and then:

"am i interrupting you?"

imagine my face

YOU DONT SAY!!!

and then she laughs and shut up Big Grin

Beardy

QTE stuff. Resident Evil 4 was very nearly ruined for me by suddenly having to furiously mash buttons everytime there's a cutscene. THIS ISN'T FUN.
Bare with me, I'm still waking up and have yet to have a coffee.

The lack of anything packaged with the majority of video games now. It really annoys me when I buy a new game and open it up to find a one-page instruction sheet with none of the information that I want.

As an example of what I mean, let's use Mortal Kombat. The original home console port (1993) had an instruction manual that contained some backstory, a short bio of each character and a few moves for each of them as well. Compare this to the new Mortal Kombat (2011) which has none of these things.

There are of course games that still come with decent booklets, but they seem to be few and far in-between.

My friend bought Lollipop Chainsaw the other day and asked me to look up something in the instruction manual. I was terrified to find out it was only a piece of paper with the typical mandatory X360 warnings and such. There wasn't a single piece of info about the game.

My favorite example of a good manual was the original Pokemon Red/Blue manual that included a lot of official art and a bunch of random facts that might be good to know when playing the game.
