Quote:This was the first easter egg I found too.

In the original, and remake of Link's Awakening for the Game Boy if the player makes their characters name Zelda, they get a remixed version of the main theme I believe.

Quote:Well, it doesn't heal people, but it heals signs.

If the player slashes a sign with their sword, pieces will fly off, if the player feels bad about what they have done, they can repair the sign by playing Zelda's Lullaby near it, once the song is finished, a theme similar to solving a puzzle plays, and the sign magically repairs itself.

http://zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Zelda%27s_Lullaby

Couldn't find a N64 version, but it still rings true.

I added the quotes to make it easier, if anyone complains about the links.

In the 8-Bit Legend of Zelda, The Book of Magic was originally called "Bible" but was change due to the fact that the religion may sue Nintendo. It was never changed in the Famicom Disk System.

In the Famicom Version

In the NES version

In the prototype version of 8-Bit LoZ The "It's a Secret to Everybody" Moblin has a different line of text in the prototype, translating to "Overlook it just this once!" meaning it was bribing you.

RE: Zelda Did You Knows?
In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, there is a glitch which allows you to acquire a colored tunic without ever entering the colored dungeon. If you kill 90 enemies without leaving the overworld, killing the 90th enemy will give you the red tunic, the blue tunic, a glitched tunic which increases your sword's damage without the added knockback, or it will do nothing. The effect you get depends on which specific enemy was the 90th one you slayed.

[Image: uvtfP.png] I noticed this recently while playing OoT 3ds and thought it was rather interesting, you can check it out for yourself, and if an image without the text is needed or better screenshots just let me know.

In Majora's Mask, there is some data in the game, that shows something quite odd.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla...5mivgwKdXw

From the looks of it, when you would go to the Great Fairy and ask for a new ability it would seem that originally the Great Fairy would have actually told the player, how to do it, but as well as showing Link how to do it.

The top one is supposedly just him training to double his health, similar to taking half the damage in Ocarina of Time.

The bottom one is The Great Fairy teaching him how to do the Spin Attack.

Both seem incomplete, due to the fact they looked creepy, or were just not needed.

Bug RE: Zelda Did You Knows?
there is bug in the game at the Temple of Fire enterance in Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time (3DS tested) where you can get past the bridge without walking on it, that means its possible to Bypass the Cutscene where Sheik Teaches you the Fire Temple Warp Song, and you can complete the dungeon.

Additionally you can complete the whole game without watching this cutscene, but when you go back to the bridge that triggers the event Sheik will still appear, You can activate this cutscene when Zelda is captured by Gannondorf in a Crystal and taken to his castle, This means that in order for sheik to teach you the fire temple song she must have escaped gannondorfs castle and went to the fire temple to teach you the song, then sneak back to Gannondorfs castle and be captured again Or there are two sheiks!

(i love did you know gaming, hope this fun info is useful, i do have a video of it on my phone somewhere but that phone is broken, if i remember correctly it involved the use of the hookshot and jumping around the bridge)

If there's tangible evidence of what you say, this would be pretty cool Cool

RE: Zelda Did You Knows?
i recorded it on my phone but its kinda borken ish (and really bad quality):x hopefully its just on the SD card ill try recover it ^^,

Update: amateur footage found, its a long 9 minute clip of me running from temple of time starting in the middle of the cutscene into the fire temple to proove it.

(considering its a 3DS game its likely really hard to hack (i did not hack it) cause action replay does not work on it, you could allways try yourself if you still dont belieive me)

heres the old amateur footage

RE: Zelda Did You Knows?
Greetings I've just join this forum and I wish to share this theory.

In Legend of Zelda Wind Waker you meet a race of bird people called the Rito. They live on a volcanic mountain and govern by an elder. In Legend of Zelda The Adventures of Link you encounter an enemy called the Fokka. These sentient bird people are only found in the final palace which sits on a volcanic island. They're also govern by a single leader, Thunderbird.

It is possible that in the "Hero fails" timeline the Zora's (which evolved into the Rito) fled across the sea and created the great palace.

Speedrunners use this. It's known as the Bolero Skip and you can actually access this before even having the red tunic.

RE: The Legend of Zelda map appears in Zelda II
(08-19-2012 01:20 AM)CtrlAltDestroy Wrote:  Apologies in advance for the crude MSPaint jobs.

In Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, you must travel through a maze of caves which is called "Death Mountain". When you finish with this maze, you emerge into a small rectangular area to the south which has some interesting terrain and no discernible purpose. No dungeons or secret items appear here, except for the caves to the north where you acquire the hammer and the magic potion, which are called "Spectacle Rock" by some townspeople in the game.

Look familiar? Take a look at this overhead view of the map from the first Legend of Zelda game, and see if you notice any similarities:

This small area in Zelda 2 is obviously supposed to be an abbreviation of the map from Zelda 1. The cave in which you acquire the Hammer in Zelda 2 is the same cave where you rescued Zelda in Zelda 1.

This is also supported by the artistic maps that you get with the NES game. It even says it on the map.

I've been doing some Zelda Cartography and noticing some interesting similarities. The whole Deku tree being Zelda 1 fact is what really got me started.

First lets take the Ocarina of Time Map. If you angle the Link to the past map 45 degrees to the right (Where Lake Hylia is at the very bottom) you can see the similarities of to the OOT map. Also note that the Zora waterfalls match up.

Now if this is true and according to the DYKG Legend of Zelda video stating that in Zelda 1 that the Great Deku is Level one then I've Theorized these to maps.

This is Zelda 1 map compared to Ocarina of time.

If you notice that the grave yards where where the Hylian town would have been. This is further recognize that when Ganondorf takes over Hyrule the town is full of redeads.

I apologize for the super long post but I didn't know how to condense it any more.

That kicks ass and makes a lot of sense! Too much to make a single DYK out of, though.

It does state that the land of Hryule is often being reshaped. The great flood being one of the biggest landscape shapers in the timeline.
