Just watched this tonight. Personally I thought it was okay. I'd give it six or seven out of ten.

RE: The Dark Knight Rises (There may be spoilers)
One of the problems I have with the series (of movies that is) is that there's too many cases of "superhero movie syndrome", or people being way too oblivious to stuff that normal people wouldn't be oblivious too, and the writers not dealing with that. Take the Heist from the Dark Knight, which is a great scene by the way, at the end, the Joker backs a school bus out of a demolished wall of a bank into traffic in broad daylight with plenty of people and cars around WHILE a dust trail is coming off of the bus, and nobody seems to notice. Also, the movie shows that a lawyer knows that Batman is Bruce Wayne, and apparently that's not a big deal. Oh, and the entire China segment is a load of unnecessary crap.

I'm not saying that the movies are bad, I just think that they're so overrated it's ridiculous. It's Batman people, not Lord of the Rings.

I don't mind that it gets ridiculous. I mean it's Batman. Anyway you look at it, you can't make it realistic. How believable would it be for Roman Abramovich, for example, to dress up as a giant bat and beat up criminals? Every now and then I just get the feeling of "holy shit, he looks ridiculous. He's got little ears, look".

I had a problem with Bane's voice a bit. Just way too loud or something. I know it was for people to hear him, but still.

I watched it last night and I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed Bane and his voice. Heck, even the twist.

Overall, I would say it's better than Batman Begins, but not as good as The Dark Knight.

And I'd be ok with it being silly and exaggerated, but people hail The Dark Knight as a "gritty, realistic crime epic" and what-not, where it really isn't. The movie is just so overrated it's annoying.

I agree. The same thing happened with the Tim Burton Batman, which had Jack Nicholson dancing to Prince. When that came out, it was seen as "dark and gritty".

There's no such thing as a "realistic" superhero movie. There's no such thing as a "relatable" superhero.

I think the Nolan Batman movies are pretty good. Great performances and direction and everything. But they're still as retarded as... say.... Commando. They're just a lot more polished.
