RE: The Amazing Spider-Man
This movie was like the first Spider-man (in the sense it has a very roughly speaking similar plot), but done right. Seriously, every Spider-man fan should see this (if you are a fan of the comic books, that is).

Saw it a second time with friends. Still an awesome movie, and I got to see the scene after the credits. Honestly the guy reminded me of the Joker.

It also sucked that they cut out some stuff out of the trailer about Peter's family. Probably will be on the deleted scenes with the blu-ray.

The one thing I didn't get was, what was the Lizard's motives? I understand Curt wanted everyone to be equal, so that was the whole idea of him and what he was doing at oscorp. But it just seemed that Lizard was angry at Peter/Spidey for no real reason (or maybe there was one, but I don't remember, exactly).

Well, Spidey did try to catch/stop him so that kind of pissed him off. Being in his lizard form makes him much more aggressove and the normal Connors almost disappears.

Also world domination with the Lizard. Spidey definitely wanted to oppose that.

I thought it was ok too. I really felt that the movie could've been done better, but that's not saying that it's bad. I just expected it to be more considering that it is a super-hero movie.

RE: The Amazing Spider-Man
Just saw it today.

I think most of it was annoying, the character was fine, he was cocky and smart, but he kept taking his mask off ALL the time for pretty much no reason, everyone is supposed to hate him, yet by the end they love him, and some even help him.

Also we could've had someone better than Lizard, or at least making him look better than how he did.

It's good, but could've been better.

You DO know that most of the town does not actually hate Spider-Man? It's just JJ (the newspaper guy) who is extremely loud about hating Spider-Man, even then you can see now and then that he once in awhile doesn't hold a grudge against him.

A lot of people complained about Lizard. To be honest I can't see what they would improve. Sure, it's easy to say "he should look better" but what would they change? The only thing that left me disappointed in him was that he didn't keep his lab coat on. He does that a lot in the comics and I think it adds to him. Oh well.

RE: The Amazing Spider-Man
I liked the movie. It sure repected the comics in a number of ways, and most changes were good. I was expecting Uncle Ben to say the famous "With great power comes great responsibility", but he didn't, which was great, since it was just "too obvious" and, according to Wikipedia (I just read it), originally Uncle Ben didn't say that. It was a narrative caption. Overall, the movie was pretty nice.

There were some flaws, though. Parker kept on taking his mask off all the time, and the only way scriptwriters could find to make Lizard find out that Peter was Spider-Man was TAGGING HIS CAMERA WITH HIS FUCKING NAME!!! THAT'S RETARDED!! PETER PARKER IS A NERD WITH A HOMEMADE COMPUTER-CONTROLLED LOCK IN HIS BEDROOM'S DOOR!! HE WOULD NEVER BE SO DUMB!! There were some other problems, but I just assumed it was "comics logic" and went on with it.

Anyway, I didn't like their choice for Lizard, but it's mostly because I never liked Lizard. Maybe that was to make up for Spider-Man 3 hinting for him to be the enemy in a possible sequel. Maybe that was the better choice to make the story more related to Spidey's parents (I don't know about them, so it's just a theory).

Btw, Lizard's face was strange. Should be more like a lizard's or crocodile's face.

I'm going to leave the Uncle Ben thing. Sure, he's not the one to say "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" but I still wanted to her it.Dodgy

I think the reason for the camera, and maybe the mask, might be that they wanted to show how god damn clumsy and dumb Peter was when he first got to be Spider-Man. If you read the comics, and maybe any reboot ever, you'll see that he makes a lot of mistakes all the time. So I personally think they wanted to put that in the movie in a way that he took his mask off and put his name on the camera. Rookie mistakes, you know?

If I recall correctly Connor didn't have anything to do with Peter's parents in the comics. He is very important for Spider-Man though since, in the comics, he also founds out pretty quickly about Peter being Spidey. Since Connors is an expert in the "gene mutation crossover" thingie he often acts as Peter's doctor when his powers act up. But if their point was to use lizard as an excuse to include the parents more, I think they did a good job.

In most other media's Spiderman is seen as "a menace" and literally everyone believes JJ in the beginning, until he starts doing heroism and such until they see it's rubbish. (Even though the fact he wasn't in it was odd) I understand it was one guy who had access to a guy who could make more guys put cranes out to go to the Osborn Tower because Spiderman saved that guys child.

As for the Lizard, I think they could've changed the face, every time I saw him close up, it didn't look right reminded me of Killer Croc, it should've been like the comics to an extent or at least have a lizard shaped head or something like that, (unless the change was still early in development)

I did like how Spiderman acted more like a spider though.

That's not true though. Because in Spider-Man there has always been a huge group of people liking him, even in reboots when a majority dislikes him.

The problem with making Lizard looking more like a lizard is that it would change his speech way too much. When they make him look more like a lizard in he always gets the typical sssSSsssSssspeech pattern, which frankly sounds stupid and personally I don't think it would fit very well in the movie. Sure, some might think "why not just remove the speech pattern?", but then it would look weird since his mouth is all deformed. I think the reason he turned out the way he is in the movie was to keep him more serious.

RE: The Amazing Spider-Man
Ah, I see about the first part, but usually in most media with superheroes, a lot dislike him at first, since they don't know what he's doing, but later everyone likes him.

Eh, I just wanted a more shaped head of a lizard than anything else, since making it look round just made me think of Killer Croc the whole time.
