I recall playing the original version as a kid. They had this awesome version of it that turned the game into a christmas theme during christmas, or something like that.

I can't remember anything about the game nowadays. Just barely gameplay. I might end up buying it.

I think you are referring to the free demo disk 'Christmas NiGHT's' an awesome freebie that gave you a level from the full game that would change depending on the seasons. There was even presents you could unlock one of which allowed you to play as Sonic!
