I love evil. It goes great with my breakfast.

I've been trying to keep out of this topic as much as possible (with my own views on religion), but I'm quite intrigued by the posts thus far.

This is getting a little off topic now...but at the same time I like where this is going.

RE: What religious beliefs do you have?
Sort of.
Though the bible was in fact inspired by God, it was still transcribed by man. And translated multiple times by man. This is something a great number of Christians believe.
I'd be very surprised if the bible is completely one-hundred-percent accurate by this point. In fact, I'm quite sure it isn't, given the aforementioned bit about homosexuals. One of my friends has done research on the original hebrew texts, and there isn't anything about homosexuality being an abomination whatsoever. What it did have was more along the lines of "Don't let everyone do this, or the species will die out", if I remember correctly. Apparently the abomination bit was an addition much later, I'd assume it was added about when Christianity was trying to demonize pagan religions and other things.

Edit: Wow, okay, there were a few more posts there. This was directed at Skarro's reply to BumblebeeCody.
In other news, evil does taste lovely. The taste has a hint of papaya.

Wow, so you literally aren't reading my posts. It makes so much sense now why you are ignoring my points, it's because your not reading them Confused I said I was canadian...and not from texas.

Also if location matters, and both locations have churches every 15 feet. (exaggeration) then your almost admitting it isn't Christianity itself, but culture.

Edit: Though it may be a bit difficult to move to Canada you are free to move to a northern state btw.

Yes, I am aware it cannot be 100% accurate as it was translated, not only that but over time words meanings change. In both languages. Confused

That is incredibly interesting. How old is your friend? And are they very fluent in Hebrew?

Edit: I always wished I could do this myself since I always got different points from writings and poetry then others did. But I feel like unless you were learning a language from a young age you could never be fluent enough to understand deep writing.

RE: What religious beliefs do you have?
My friend is about my age (21); I haven't asked how fluent in Hebrew he is, but I don't think he's been learning since birth. I'll have to ask him about this Tongue

Oh, and you don't have to learn a language from a young age to become fluent! The age before puberty is the time when the mind is the most impressionable and receptive to knowledge, but if you approach the language with the correct mindset, anyone can learn at any age. Smile It would take more time, though.

The Hebrews hated homosexuality but Christians dont. It does say in the Hebrew texts that Homosexuality is a sin.

Your making a bad connection. First of all Hebrew is a race not a religion, to say a specific race hates gays its...well racist. Second Jewish people don't hate people who sin, they are aware that everyone sins including themeselves. Third, both Jewish people and Christians are aware there not supposed to hate anyone for anything. "hate" is a sin.

RE: What religious beliefs do you have?
I fell like this has become a philosophical discussion about Christianity and Judaism, rather than just being about discussing what religion we all are.

I focused more on your argument rather than unrelated statements about where you lived. Religion is a global thing.

RE: What religious beliefs do you have?
somehow I knew that when I clicked the topic I'd find this kind of shit going on at the end lmao

I'm not necessarily a religious person, but I can understand why some people are. I stay clear of organized religion in communities because it is so often tangled with bigotry. But I would never want to try and ruin anyone's beliefs.
