Welcome to the former forums for DidYouKnowGaming?! In March of 2013, VGFacts was launched and this community was merged into the new forums there. These forums were originally taken offline at that time but I brought them back as an archive while transferring sites to the new server. Registrations and all interaction (posting, editing, moderation, etc.) are disabled but everything can still be read. If you're interested in joining the community, head on over to https://www.vgfacts.com/forums/ and join there but I've always thought it was important to preserve a site's roots so these forums will forever be available in this read-only state. Enjoy!

Nintendo Direct 2.14.13
Okay, so I just thought I'd make a thread discussing what was mentioned on the latest Nintendo Direct from a few days ago.

Year of Luigi
First off, the video was mostly about Luigi. Nintendo is officially calling this year "The Year of Luigi." This is mostly because he's getting to star in two games and will be a supporting role in many more.
Scheduled to come out on March 24th this year, Luigi is getting to star in a sequel to his 2001 Gamecube game, Luigi's Mansion. It's going to be called Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon and it looks like it will be a huge upgrade to the first, with many more ghosts, new creative ways of game play, and an online and local multiplayer that looks quite fun. It'll be on the 3DS and it looks like it'll be worth the money. I'd recommend it if you enjoyed the first or are just looking for a game that you've never played before.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team was then announced next with some footage. Now this really got me excited because I really enjoy this series of RPGs and it looked quite unique in the series, well all the others were unique in themselves, but you get my point. Anyway, the idea is Luigi is dreaming and (this is kind of an assumption) Mario is somehow in his dream and messing with Luigi in his sleep makes weird things happen to the dream, helping Mario. The game's supposed to be available this summer.

Next, Iwata talked about the next Mario Golf in the series, Mario Golf: World Tour. It is being developed by Camelot which I was glad to hear, partially because of the funny intros to their Mario Sports games and partially because, well they developed the past ones and did pretty good. It's supposed to be available this summer.

After that, he mentioned a few things about the new expansion pack that will be coming out for New Super Mario Bros. U. From what it looks like, it's really supposed to be a whole new game, with new worlds, and it'll be starring Luigi. It'll be called New Super Luigi U, since Mario is excluded from it. No date or exact period of time was said except that it will be released this year.

Other New Things
The Legend of Zelda got it's own MiiVerse community page last Thursday when the video was made.

Fire Emblem Awakening got two new maps last Thursday, one with a new story that involves Marth, Roy, and Ike and one with a lot of wealthy battlers, giving lots of gold.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be available on June 9th (in North America.) It allows you to visit others houses via street pass and gives a whole new take on the series.

Lego City: Undercover will be released on March 18th. It should give a whole new twist to Lego games with the gamepad on the wii u. A 3DS version of the game called Lego City: Undercover The Chase Begins will be out on April 21st in North America.

A new Ninja Gaiden 3 update will be released for free in a few months.

Wii U Street is available.

3DS eShop
HarmoKnight will be available on the eShop on March 28th. Kerploosh! will be available on the eShop on March 7th. Mario and Donkey Kong Minis on the Move is coming to the eShop soon. Dillon's Rolling Western The Last Ranger will be available April 11th.

Minor Things
A ZombiU deluxe wii U set will be available soon.

There were some other games I didn't mention, but Castlevania Mirror of Fate is coming on March 5th to the Nintendo 3DS. Also Monster Hunter 3 will be out on the Wii U and 3DS soon.

Need for Speed Most Wanted U is coming out soon.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D is coming out this Summer for 3DS.

Now that I'm done writing all that, which I guess is kind of pointless since you can just check the video out yourself, I'd like to know what do you think of the things mentioned in the video and what else do you guys want to see in the future of the Wii U and 3DS?
